Orange County CAF's: up to no good

Used mine in Anza this weekend. Didn't try to roll it back up. Ha. Cozy af though. Slept like a baby last night. Also, rattle snakes are out in the desert. The weather is just right for them. This guy was blocking the trail:



Super bloom was nice but not worth the traffic. I saw prius', Porsche's, and Benzos deep into coyote canyon. The saving grace was the rock gardens to keep those vehicles away from camp. I no shit saw a prius get past the longest, *deepest* water crossing last evening. Silly tourists. We also, as a team, recovered a van nearly burried to the frame, and escort 3 hitchhiking hikers from DEEP in the park to their car. Traffic was stupid but it was fun and a few others learned some things about what their rigs are capable of. Good times.

Leading 11 rigs that have never done Anza before leaves minimal time for photos. Postable photos that is. Everyone was great and Diablo Drop off was fun as always.

If JT is gonna be as hot as it was in AB this weekend I highly suggest as many ez ups as possible. The second the sun came up over the crest it was uncomfortable. Wratget reports said Hi 80s. Low 90s. Felt like 100 with no breeze. The desert floor and rocks get so damn hot. Barely needed a blanket at night. Border line "Fuck this I'm leaving" weather. Ha. Camp fire was 100% not for heat. Lol

We go to Angeles shooting range and I plink the fat pig up at the top of the hill. Think it's 300 yards or something. Plus it's so smooth you don't need a spotter with a decent optic...
Haven't gone out anywhere we care to walk out and put up paper to judge it though.

I have an aluminum foregrip on my AR. When it's hot outside, it sucks up all the heat and is pretty much too hot to handle without gloves on. I would bet this would be the same. But it does look cool.

 

Save the money for more mods.

 

Finished the radio today. Terrible pic but it was dark out. I can't believe how much better the sound quality is. Night and day.
