to anyone... I'm just say'n... please read

So, I just got home from Ontario early this morning and at about 2:45am, just past 4th street near the Ontario Airport on the 10fwy westbound (on my way home) I was coming up on a CHP traffic break and eventually to a dead stop. I immediately hop on ch19 (i.e. truckers channel, emergency channel, road information channel, etc) because there were a half dozen or more big rigs and I was talking to one of them to see if him or anyone else knew what was going on because I was just over 100yds back and couldn't see from my vantage point as the road curved left and beyond that is where the first CHP lights were. Anyways, he couldn't tell as well because he was at about the same spot I was. We were in communication with one another to give out updated information to ourselves and anyone else that was eventually coming up on the traffic stop. It ended up being some, what looked like a Nissan sports car lost control in the rain and the wreck ended up being underneath a bridge on the right-hand side. Sooooo,

The point being, you never know when you are in need of the 11m band (i.e. CB). Like I said before, there are quite a few truckers that LIVE on the CB band and my previous employer, I knew about 3-4x truckers that used CB. That I know of, there is no HAM radio out there that has the 11m band in it? So, if all you have is a HAM setup, then you don't have very many options, in that sense. So, whether on a trail or out on the open road, to have multiple forms of comms is a good thing to have!!! Does it have to be hard mount antenna and a permanent mobile radio install? NO! You can have a handheld and magmount setup so that it is not a permanent type setup, but yet, easily to get up and running right away.

Am I an advocate for the CB band. No I am not. I am an advocate to have multiple forms of comms as it doesn't hurt to have and it does NOT have to be some fancy permanent setup as well, whether it is HAM... or... CB!!!

So, just my 2cents and humble opinion and personal experiences.:thumbsup::fistbump::cheers:

I do NOT have a choice, LOL!!! My sister lives right off of the 10!!! LOL!!! I sure in the hell ain't gonna take surface streets to increase my time to get home, even for a fair short distance!!! As it is, without traffic, it takes approx 35-40min just to get home and that is the "fastest route", most direct route!!! Besides, the 10fwy at 2-3am is NOT busy. Just some F'N IDIOT decided to go too fast in the F'N rain thinking he looks F'N COOL or something!!! If I could poor fuel on crash idiots like that I would!!! People like that, most definitely, DESERVE what they get when they drive like F'N MORONS without any regards towards anyone else on the road... especially... in F'd-UP weather conditions!!! Just my 2cents!!!

Just to add to make another point/example, my mom and I were coming home from my sisters during Christmas season, again, wet weather conditions, and a sports car comes ZOOOOOOMING PAST us!!! NO F'N REGARDS towards others!!! Right as we are passing a fwy off-ramp he tries to exit and does a pretty gnarly spin-out and hits the guard rail on the right-hand side!!! :eek:o_O The next exit, from what I remember, was quite a ways down, but I wasn't about to stop on the fwy with my mom in the car. The point being, if you're gonna drive like that without caring about your own life/safety why the "F" should I!!! As it was, he sped RIGHT NEXT TO US just SCREAMING down the fwy!!! So I always go back to think that IF he lost control near us due to hydroplaning, where would THAT have left me and my mom, right!!! If you're gonna F'N KILL yourself because of your F'N stupidity in driving habits then go do it to where there is no one else around that will get injured because of your stupida$$ driving habits... again... in F'd-UP weather conditions!!! o_O:thumbsup:

I've seen a few cases on the news in the past where it has.

About the ONLY time I ever honestly did was when I was trying to get to my God father's funeral and I was NOT gonna make it if I had slowed down. My work kept having me stay saying that I could leave as soon as I go the job done, but then they kept piling crap on?! I even gave them notice ahead of time to take the day off?! So, it's not like they didn't know about it, but simply didn't care about it. But yet, they had no problem going to a friend's funeral that was close to their family???!!! I finally straight-up told them that I HAD to leave and just... left!!! LOL!!!

So, the point, maybe these people had similar situations and I get that, but most don't.

MT tires suck in the rain. When I was running Mickey Thompson MTZ tires I spun out in an intersection with them. No I wasn't drifting, at a stop light, go to turn left up a hill and there was just NO traction. Spun a nice slow 180, all the cars around saw it happen so they stopped, no one crashed. Turned back around and tires spun the whole way up the hill. It was embarrassing haha

I've always wondered if siping a tire really helps? Talking about siping an "aftermarket tire", if you get my meaning? I remember just before I quit the tire shop after I finally finished school, they had just purchased siping machines, but only certain stores had them and my store was not one of them. So, I never got to learn how to use the machine, but did see the results. Never did hear back from the customers with siped tires and have always wondered if all four tires failed on them at the same time? LOL!!!

My understanding was that it helps with traction and heat dissipation as well? Even though, MOST of your tires heat is on the sidewalls themselves!!! Or should I say, that is where MOST of the heat is dissipated would probably be a bit more accurate!!!

Yes we did the first night and it was still there. I finally got to do a little fishing in this trip. We then went up to Black Mtn. to camp. Probably was a mistake as it got very cold up there and started to drop freezing rain, so I bailed. We should of stayed at the crick.
