A little lift and a little armor
Rim size, tire size, lift spindles, ect..lots of factors...... most of the time people do it just for looks and go above 3" of lift cause they don't care about their ride/suspension/articulatuon.

Most sports with 17" rims are taller than me. Seems like it at least.

im 285/75/17 with 2 inch lift and there are a ton of trucks that are my height or taller. I think that when you get bigger tires you need to get a solid lift.. plus there are a lot.... of mall crawlers

First gens have more clearance under their skirts, that's for sure.

My 295/75/16 next to a first Gen on 285/70/16 were pretty much level at the bottom of the frames mid cab.

Okay, here is a quick question. My roommate has a 1st Gen 1995 6cyl manual and there is a slight buzzing/ticking sound after the engine is OFF? I was able to easily narrow it down to some canister looking parts shown in the picture and it is the left one in the pic. I remember reading about this a while back??? BUT, was NOT really sure?! I THINK I remember that this was actually "normal", correct?!

The actual problem is that the truck is "hard to start" only in the morning and the battery is brand new?! It turns over just fine, but just doesn't "start" right away like it should... within reason.

Finally, I know this isn't the "1st Gen" section, but thought that this would be a better place to post because it is more a "starting issue" than anything!!! I just noticed the buzzing/clicking from that part and just thought I would ask? But, again, the real issue is starting the truck first thing in the morning? The "sitting" battery voltage (i.e. the vehicle is turned OFF) is right around 13.10Volts, just to let you know.

Thanks people if you are able to help me out!!!

Btw, @icetreye Kevin, how are your batt terms looking??? Nice and clean I hope!!!:D

I think you're correct in that it is the evap canister. Yeah, I didn't hear the noise while the truck was ON/warmed-up as I only noticed it, pretty much immediately, when it was turned OFF.

Regarding the starting issue, it is a possibility that the clutch starter switch wasn't being fully "engaged" due to the foot rug. I noticed that when they had me look at it this morning because it was up pretty far. Well, they actually noticed it, but it caught my eye as well. I had a co-worker that had an X-Runner and the exact same thing. I will look at it again tomorrow morning as it only seems to be "in the morning"... according to my roommate, LOL!!! But yeah, it started right up like it should? The problem started yesterday, I believe, and they were freaking out because they were running late for work! I personally THINK the issue is solved, in my humble opinion.

The buzzer/clicking sound I will do a little bit more research today on it and I believe it was actually "normal" from what I remember?! I just didn't have the immediate time to do the "digging" because that is their only transportation and the starter thing was more on my mind, by far. I just thought I would ask about the buzzer sound and didn't want to create another thread if one was already made.

Anyways, thanks for the reply and, again, I believe you are correct.

    EDIT:
Doing my "research" on the buzzing/clicking just for shi*s and giggles... Thanks again!!!

LMAO!!! I didn't think about that one!!! :D:p:facepalm:

I don't know about the "lawsuit" thing? I'll have to look into that if that is the case? I do know that they changed the law again just a few days before the new year. But yeah, I'll have to look in on that one as I didn't hear anything about it? :notsure:

On a side-note, I know that there is some sort of possible lawsuit going on for that dumba$$ gas tax they were trying to pass/push on us. The shi**y thing about that is that our "boy" Gov Brown is practically untouched by the possible lawsuit and he was pushing the agenda pretty hard!!! That's some BS right there!!! I heard that one on the radio a couple of days ago.
