Ok so I received a mail from DMV today for my car registration. They got my address wrong. Stupid me thinking that my car registration is due December but that's was my civic that I sold and forgot my TACOMA. I have to pay 523 bucks including penalty. Pulled my credit card and pay online just now. My question is if I call tomorrow and tell them that I did not received and notification mail regarding my registration which is true coz they got my address wrong, would they reimburse me for the penalty?

 

Take it to the dmv.

 

I hate going to DMV, always crowded. Plus if I do, I won't be able to until Wednesday.

 

I wonder if I can resolve it via phone tomorrow. If not I will take to dmv Wednesday

No it's not... It's 80 bucks. If 40 bucks I will go and get one today lol.

 

It might be $80 the first time. Still well worth getting away from the DMV. But I think I only pay like $45 a year

 

$90 a year for me. And that's the premium that comes with the AAA chase truck that gives free 100 mile tows.

 

That's good to know.. But yea I will definitely need one, I'm just being lazy. I work 5-6 days a week, time is very limited.

 

Costa mesa DMV is not that bad if you go in the morning.
And any government owned building that you visit SUCKS!

 

Get a AAA membership for sure!You can also call the DMV and schedule an appointment.The DMV gives you a scheduled time and when you get there you won't have to wait.I did it several yrs ago to have a new picture taken for my expired driver's license and was in and out of there in 30-45min.

 

The only problem is some dmvs don't have appointments available for two to three months out because they are so over booked

 

Ya its cause dmvs require appointments to be made for a handful of stuff now. a buddy had to wait 2 months to get his license abd go up to glendale instead of costa mesa

 

Licenses are the only thing AAA can't do. You have to go to the dmv for that

 

Last time I went to the dmv took three hours but they take one hell of a picture
