Goodmorning peeps! Still looking to see if a few people want to hit up Holy Jim someone this week real quick in the late afternoon.

Also, are the Dakar leaf packs meant to hold weight? I'm probably going to get an AAL soon because when I load back up my sleeping platform in the bed after wheeling it lowers my rear 1/2". It's fairly heavy though.

Yes, dakars are good for weight.

Don't they maybe two packs? One standard and one expedition?

There's a standard and a heavy duty. The standard can hold weight well. The heavy duty is good if you have a hard shell and then a bunch of heavy shit in the bed

Thanks. I was trying to figure out what would fit my needs when the time comes as well.

That's my problem. I have a shell too. I'm probably going to add an AAL at some point to get level again. It's perfect with the platform out. But sags a little when loaded which obviously is normal.

Depends on which dakar leaf packs. The standard isn't but the HD is up to 600 lbs if I remember correctly. I have the standard duty since I'm not always carrying heavy enough weight to need the HD packs.

I just have the standard ones. I don't always carry super heavy stuff and didn't really want a terrible ride. So, I made a compromise. I'll probably get an AAL down the road when I get my RTT. That is, if I decide to get an RTT. I plan to do more "overlanding" this fall/winter/spring.

I'd get the regular dakars for now and if it's too much sag you can get the extra leaf later on

It felt weird, but even a broken clock is correct twice a day.

I just got conditionally approved by OCSD last week pending my training certificate. My GC statement mainly involves offroading/camping in remote areas and travel for work in high crime areas. I didnt think they would ever approve me either, but since the process is free, I decided to give it a try anyway.

OC county is one of the more CCW friendly counties in the state. If you can articulate your statement and back up with receipts or paperwork, you will likely get approved. I find the OCSD to be very professional throughout the entire process.

If you've been threaten at work, report it to your supervisor or get a written report. That will help with your application.

Documentation is going to be hard to get from work due to HIPPA laws. I could get them a photocopy of my badge and some recent pay stubs, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do any more than that. I can provide lots of documentation of my off roading though, got lots of photos/videos.
