chromo might be a better option if using with a breaker bar only

id rather use impact on a breaker bar, i've seen chromo crack while using a breaker bar in the field before.

    handle to a hi-lift makes a great extension to a 1/2" breaker

not that many people will have a 1/2" electric impact while on the trail so the chances of them having a imapct version is slim anyways. I would rather have a chromo one on a breaker because it will work better because of the harder material

edit: to complete what I was trying to write

very true, i still take all my impact sockets with me on a trail. you can still use them on a regular ratchet or breaker bar.

the HF 1/2" works great and is fairly cheap. google it and you'll see it's compared better against the Snap-On equivalent. Only real difference is the length of warranty. HF's impact is only 90 days whereas the Snap-On is 5 years. I noticed a lot of the pits were all using the HF imapct during the Vegas To Reno race.

I don't normally carry a 1/2" with me, I brought it since I thought there might be a variety of experience and rigs of varying levels and there might be a good chance someone would break a CV. Normally I just carry the 3/8" drive one, it's strong enough to loosen a properly torqued CV nut.
