Hmmmm... as far as I know, Toyota does NOT have a front locker, still. My enthusiasm for my A-TRAC is that it turns my truck into a tank that crawls up and through anything better than my previous two Tacomas with the rear locker but no A-TRAC. There is no other stock 4WD truck that has better traction, in my opinion.

Nice truck in the vid. Now I see why we tend to be in agreement on things.

    Ahh, you made my night!

You should take ride a Ford Raptor that is equipped with a rear stock E-Locker and stock front Torsen Differential, truly a "stock" truck that IS more capable than a Toyota.

There is already a blueprint for how to build one like his or my '85. For under $10k you will have yourself one incredibly capable dedicated rig.

Yup. A welder, angle grinder, and some craigslist skills can go a long way.

I can daily drive it if I put mudflaps on it, and I did for a while. But, it is too easy of a truck to steal and can be parted out rather quickly, so I try not to drive it where I would have to park it out of eye site.

For me it was more like slowly finding deals and stockpiling shit while I learn to weld and do tons of research over at pirate.

Thank you, I have ridden in Raptors... they are very nice, very big, and very prone to problems if not modified (even if modified, as it turned out). I like being able to take a showroom stock Toyota and going anywhere and then back home... and using it as a daily driver after my Baja trips. Oh, what a feeling!

I was with Baja racer/TV host/Tour leader Cameron Steele and others in Ford Raptors in Baja (Trail of Missions, CBS Sports, 2014)... broken spindle being not the only fail and seeing them stuck, too. Not to worry, a new Tundra was along and pulled them out!
