No boat. The boat rental for the small aluminum boats at Silverwood is pretty cheap though.

That's all I do. Never caught a damn thing off a boat. I don't work at it to hard. Call it bait and wait. Load it, throw it, sit down and have a beer and a bowl. Wait for the fish to hook himself then I'll get up.

I suck at it too. But, the worst day of fishing is better than the best day at work.

I went out this past Sunday morning. Got skunked and only caught some sun rays and a buzz. It was a good day.

Some guys also know what they are doing. I am not one of those guys.

Hopefully I can make it out to Bishop over Memorial weekend. That place can make anybody look like a fishing God.

I have learned a lot of tricks over the years but the best ones are fish eat primarily at dawn and dusk and big fish eat little fish. With those two things anyone can get their bite on.

Yup. I have caught more fish before 9 am and after 4 pm than any other times. Only thing that screws that up is stocked trout.

I don't believe stockers can breed for one and two. Most are planted in small lakes that get to warm to keep them year round. They die off and really F with water chemistry.
I think more of the issue is the mandatory release of large mouth bass and striper bass. They get big and eat everytbing that swims and usually they are all that's left besides catfish.

For starters they eat food that should go to natives thus depleting the native species so in return you have to fill the area with more stockers. There are exceptions though like Owens river valley but they release the same species into the same waterways. Also stockers will bite anything which defeats the purpose of fishing in my book. I have actually caught stockers on a bare hook. Hate them.
