Not all lakes require you to throw back every bass, but a lot are just so they can try to attract the anglers that really want to work for the big bass. Usually what you will see is 2 to 4 pounds but typically smaller. Fish look for three things..... food, shelter, and air. Find a area that has kinda all three and you got a winner spot.

I have fished quite a few places that wont allow you to keep smaller trout, only the big ones. But i generally catch and release anyways.

Wild trout yes small ones need to go back. I think it's 15 or 17 inches in length they need to be. But stockers they don't want you throwing it back. Lol

Hopefully I do end up making it out to the water this Friday. It can keep my mind busy during these agonizing 10 days while waiting to take possession of my new gun.

Where are you getting wild trout in that size range?

I pick it up on Tuesday. I have diverted funds from getting my truck worked on to guns in the last month.

A CZ SP-01 Tactical and a CZ RAMI. And a cool holster for ccw.

    Big bear:anonymous:
I have caught quite a few. The stocker will have clipped tail or dorsal fin ( can't remember:rasta:). Usually the evening bite at big bear between 430 and 630 below the red house on the fawnskin side.

San Bernardino county is a little easier than others.

I should probably head up there. And you do shore fishing there?

Stockers that I see usually have ugly, chewed up looking tails.

The price point for the quality is the selling point. DA/SA with either a manual safety or decocker. I prefer the decocker models. The triggers can take a few hundred rounds to feel broken in sometimes. I like the CZ's I have so far.

The slides can be difficult for some people to manipulate since they are much shorter than other semi's, and that is a turn off for some folks.

I can't remember the name, but there was a trout hatchery out there that closed down and the San Bernardino county water district bought all the remaining fish and stuck them in big bear. There was over a million fish from fingerlings all the to 20 pounds dropped in. It has a generous population of trout as it is the only lake I believe they can actually breed in around here. Everything else has gotten to shallow and warm.

Big Bear got pretty shallow prior to last year's heavy rains. It would be worth a try though. I will read up on Big Bear fishing tomorrow and possibly head up at the ass-crack of dawn to get there around 6am Friday.

It is a balancing act on what to spend money on. Tax returns came at a good time when the gun I have been wanting was finally in stock locally.
