What shop will be doing the work? The re-route has been on my list for years now.

Ahhhh I didn’t think of that. I’m glad I asked!
But with that said, there’s also a gap between the heat shield and the trans.
Is your concern stuff hitting one another, or the heat transfer from the exhaust?

    He usually is haha

This was from WTB mufflers in Poway.

@desertjunkie760 recently had his done, and his came out killer! I can’t recall where, but may need to save more and go that route.

I had showed this shop that same picture up top earlier this year when I needed to fix a busted exhaust hanger on my old truck before selling it. They gave me a rough estimate of $150 and said they could do it, hence why I went there as most places I’ve read about are closer to $300.

    Pooway just to far...

Seems like it would be more work to re-route the way the muffler dude recommends

It was also the peon there today, the better guy is there M-F, but my only other free time to get it done is Friday morning. Might not make this happen before John Bull.

Let me look for the pictures of Shane’s to compare.

The exhaust moves and engine moves. You really don't want to tighten than gap anymore. That picture how most do it is how you want to go. You can make a bit of a z design, but some good bends will make it easy for them. For example you can find 2.5" bend with 2.5" bend radius and it will look clean.

Just do those mandrel bends and bring it to a guy whatever size your exhaust is. Everyone will be jealous of clean bends.

    Check My Sig.
The guy who did mine moved the Y pipe back a bit as well but he also went a little overkill on the entire job.

I do remember from talking with him and in order to make the new pipe fit, you’d have to bend the corners past 90* and kick it back a little. To give room to fit it into the Y.

Check out Ed Hansons in Spring Valley- He did my FJ40 setup and was going to do my Tacoma reroute but couldn't get it scheduled. All kinds of custom work and the office manage drives a Tacoma as well...

This is exactly how I imagine the wire jobs all the TurdJenners are doing when installing their Raptor Lights in the grill
