These were our views

 

No wind at all. But the wood got wet and it smoked us out.

 

There are good shooting areas and good trails all around that area.

You guys should roll up and camp with us next time.

I've got an old RadioShack RC car I'm thinking of cutting apart and modding, anyone done anything similar? I think Danny has an RC, anyone else?

I recently bought a NiMH battery and charger from RadioShack for $17 as the old cadmium battery was leaking cancer. I was going to just solder together 6AAs but then I'm splicing connectors and putting a jack on some other charger blahblahblah 3 hours and $12 later that wouldn't have been worth it.

Need to see about getting a new motor and smaller wheels for this thing, try to make it rip a little harder.

 

Danny, what RC cars do you have? I used to have two Traxxas slash's that were fun to haul ass at things, amazingly they didn't die that much.

 

I misspoke, my battery is NiMH now, essentially the same as the stock NiCa but not as toxic. I'm not going LiPo that's way too expensive and means I would essentially be rebuilding everything about the car, would make more sense to just buy a newer better RC.

This is just a hopeless tinker project, as for size constraints I'm happy to cut all the plastic off and make something new using just the drivetrain main circuit and front servo.

 

I was gonna say, stashing a lipo in there if it wasn't designed for it would likely grenade the internals. I would be curious to see what compatible parts you could design the truck with to make it up to date with new stuff.
