Why not break them in and put some dirt on them going up Santiago Peak?

This lil Santiago send sounds fun though, too. BUTTTT sadly am dropping off my car tomorrow to get my bumper fixed (finally)

Thank you! I like them as well. Not too bulky or "out there", but enough to make it look good cosmetically while still being functional

    Very nice.

Well, regarding Santiago Peak, I don't see the mountain moving anytime soon, so it'll be there when you get the chance to go if you've never gone up to the peak? I like doing solo night runs up to the peak just to get my "junkie dirt fix". :rasta::laughing::laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl:

But yeah, a really tame fire road really. SOME challenging rutted areas with a little loose gravel can be a bit challenging for 2wd even if locked rears. Very doable though.

Anyways, the view from the top is really nice day or night.

Finally, I know I keep mentioning, but you MAY or MAY NOT experience "ghost lights". Typically from behind you. I'm pretty sure that it's not from reflections of any kind... Anyways, pretty cool and spooky at the same time if you ever experience it.:goingcrazy:

Yeah, I had my engine block rebuilt. Long story short, the balance shaft "bearing" got destroyed from low oil pressure. NEVER EVER go to Gustafson's Auto in HB is all I can say!!! They basically ruined my engine. Unfortunately it can't be totally proven.

Anyways, the balance shaft delete was put in place, crank shaft rebuilt and balanced, new pistons, etc etc etc.

Damn motor runs like a champ!!!

I wanted to keep my original block because after the shop took it apart, the only part that was really damaged out of all of the parts was really just the balance shaft "bearing race" in the block. Even my old pistons were okay, but just a small chip on one piston, but it wouldn't have really affected anything. The shop decided to replace the pistons still.

Anyways, I wanted to keep my old block because I know the history of "my block" and not put a "rebuilt engine" in place not knowing the history of the rebuilt engine other than... "rebuilt", if that makes any sense? In other words, other than the balance shaft bearing being destroyed, that wasn't a big deal to me since some people do a delete kit for that anyways. I don't really feel a difference in engine vibration.

But yeah, runs pretty good. I need to fix my bed bolts, CB antenna mount, and a few other things. I eventually plan on getting LCE long tube headers w/ cat back. Down the line, MAYBE install a SC?

    Nickloooooovin!!! :D

The MOST RECENT run up there was about June or so of this year.

    I didn't notice anything different?

Actually, it seemed pretty easy going up that damn little hill coming out of the "end cap" up at the towers. I did have it in 4lo though, so that made it easy peasy going up. I didn't want to struggle going back up that damn little hill like I was buck riding a wild horse!!! :burnrubber::laughing::laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl:

But yeah, I really didn't notice anything different either way?

My coworker was saying he had to kick it in 4wd for that section, he went a month ago, said it’s pretty rutted out but I’m sure we’ll be fine :D

At the time I went, it was as usual. Going down that little hill and coming up that little hill... as well as the trail in general from the visitor center all the way up and back... was as usual as I've always ran it, which has to be quite a few runs now, both day and night.

I do get "turned around" on some corners at times as "everything starts looking the same"... especially at night.

    You should be fine.

The 2wd guys MAY have to do a "running start" going back up that little hill, but it is still very doable for sure. :notsure:

I WISH they would open Indian Truck Trail back up? That's easy too, but a whole different experience. Night time can be pretty damn spooky on that trail though as on that trail, if solo, you definitely feel alone out there.:goingcrazy:

..."little bitch... haunted ish things...":laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl::facepalm:

I've personally experienced and others that were with me one night and on some of my solo night runs at various parts of the trail on different occasions I would "see headlights" or what you would think would be headlights from another vehicle coming up on you so naturally you pretty much stop at a spot to where both traffic could easily pass. One night coming down with a total of 4x rigs in the group, I was in front and just around the bend I saw dim'ish lights and very much looked like a vehicle would be coming around the corner very soon. So I called out to the group to stop. We waited for a little and nothing??? Started to creep forward a little to turn the bend and nothing? :confused:o_O

I forgot who was behind me, but they had noticed it too.

It COULD have been someone in our group as there are twists and turns with the trail just slightly above you as that what was discussed as a possibility. It could have also been that the vehicle was going away from our group, but at some point, we would have seen something ahead of us no matter how fast simply because of the headlights, but we never saw any headlights ahead of us in the distance and it was and can get pretty dark up there.

Then on different night runs that I did solo, at least two other times when by myself at various parts of the trail, but in the same general area, I had lights in back of me? So I slowed down and stopped. Waited for a while, and nobody ever came up?

Anyways, it has happened to me even on my solo night runs and at different spots. I even looked back to try to see if somehow it could have been actual traffic from far away, but it didn't seem so as well as the lights seemed pretty close as if just 50yds or less away in my rearview and side mirrors.

Multiple occasions with or without others... just unexplainable really? Pretty sure it's nothing really and could possibly be other traffic that is just "right" to make it seem as if they are near by? :notsure:

I'm just saying you may experience it. I go back not just to run the trail, but see if I can experience it again? :notsure: Maybe get out and yell to see if anyone is there one of these days too? :notsure::alien:
