Opportunity to move up the ladder, you know the possibility to become a supervisor or some position management related eventually. My current job I'm already as high up I can be & there really isn't much responsibility or management roles; I really do enjoy management work even though it can be very difficult at times & want to move on to a job where eventually I can become a supervisor & work my way up the ranks.
So ya I need a new job

Respect for the 11 hr shifts. I worked 12 hr shifts for 15 yrs until recent. I don't know what to do with only an 8 hr shift to work now. So much time for activities.

Which reminds me, if anyone knows someone with power plant experience and is savvy with high voltage ops as well as industrial heating and cooling then let me know. The company I'm leaving has asked me to help replace - me.

    It is from: Mommy Dearest

That's a classic scene right there, by far, for that movie!!! I THINK you would like it?

Other good movies, not comedies or anything, but there are def funny a$$ scenes in them are:
    1) October Sky (based on true events/story)
    2) The Right Stuff (basically about the Mercury missions)

Both have quite a bit of humor in them and drama as well. Just some other movies that I like.

I think Nick is just trying to get out of "retail" and into more of a career.

Nick now is the time to take chances. Don't get stuck in a dead end job. Try as many things as you can. Find what you like, and create a money making opertunity for your self.

Nick I use the words find and create for yourself. No one is going to hand you a great job and a great carreer is not going to fall on your lap. If you want something YOU and only you need to be motivated, and actively moving forward.

I see people move from out of state with nothing. That makes them motivated not to go back and they find a way to make it work.

I had more but I don't want it to be a lecture.

ALL too true!!! Take out Nick's name and you have me in that situation!!! It was THAT bad where I worked!!! I was in a work position to where I was soooo valuable to the company, I knew things about my position that even upper management didn't know how to do!!!??? Now, whether you want to believe me or not, that is up to you. All I can say is that "I" was the one that personally experienced it, of course, and until someone else does the things that I had to endure over the many years, that person doesn't really know/understand how F'up the company I worked for really is!!! With no change in sight and constant promises of hiring more help I just finally decided to move on. I just recently found out that they have multiple orders, government contract related, and they have no one to do the job that I used to do?! Upper management even tried to get me to stay 2x or more extra days, possibly even another whole week. I initially gave them 1x week, then they asked if I could stay an extra week, then tried asking me to come in on a Saturday and was even talking about having me possibly work another few more days to a week!!! So, go figure!!! Finally, asking for more money would have only put that much more responsiblilty on top of me with the same amount of help... you just have to trust me in that, you really do NOT know what I had to endure!!! On top of it all, I was on call 24/7 365... even if I took a vacation, I had to carry the phone. But when upper management went on vacation and I had a question it was like giving my liver/lungs/heart/kidneys, all the vital organs/systems just to get ahold of them AND I got "lectured" one time because "I" was bugging them and it was just one call that I made... during the daytime... on a regular work day... and I couldn't do my job unless I had upper managements help to deliver on time, which they changed the order date without giving me further information on changes that were made that was never disclosed to me (i.e. there are no meetings and it is all heresay... not even through e-mail)???!!! Yes, THAT BAD people!!! You guys have NO idea!!!

    Carry on people!!!

Danny, I was trying to do the same thing with the company that I used to work for, not coding in VB, but actual circuit board work, embedded uController code, and CAD related stuff. But, they kept pushing me away from it and even told me that, wherever they needed me, that is where I had to go, which I understood because they're management, but none of it would have ever benefitted me in the end. I couldn't even do silkscreen "positioning", the most BASIC work when it comes to circuit board CAD related stuff. When I was put out into the field, I was even forced to do stuff, on-site, with no training, and it had to get done that very same day???!!! There was aLOT of pressure and more than once, believe me!!! I even made TEST modules on my own time, at home, with my own equipment (function generators, oscilloscope(s), logic analyzer, soldering iron, etc etc etc) and they're using those TEST modules to this day!!! It sounds as if you work for a great company Danny that is awesome.:fistbump:
