    I have. It's not easy.
    Snorkel, mask, fins and a catch bag. And of course spearing thing of some sort.
    Be cautious. You don't want bleeding stuff in your catch bag! Have an ice chest on shore.

    Did a little in Catalina! It was fun but was an able to catch very much. Some fish are smart.

    It'll come with time. I've got a few friends who do a bunch of fishing and spearing. Basics are obviously a wetsuit, mask/snorkel, fins (make sure you get a nice set), spear. Weight belt is nice to have as well. If you're looking for anything specific I can try and help.

    Nice. I assume it's really difficult. But love being in the ocean, surfing and swimming, so seems fun to try and catch some fish too. And improve breath holds and get some exercise.

    Ya, it's definitely not something you want to go out and do solo. At the very least have someone out there floating around with you. You never know when you might blackout, it happens to even experienced divers. I'd go out with you, but the waters getting colder and I'm a pussy when it comes to cold water. Living in Hawaii for 5 years kind of ruined that for me lol
