Well yeah for sure the whole media thing adds to the fact that we might of not heard about it back then. But damn I mean back then if someone was being a bully, or simply talking shit, you just fight it out, and then that was the end of it. I just don’t understand the point of going and taking innocent lives.

PS people like to ignore the mental health issues associated with school shootings. I believe not every parent now a days is a "helicopter" parent. But rather ignoring their children and leaving them to explore the internet. A VERY dangerous place for an impressionable young brain.

Sorry. Been slow at work today.

Indeed. Another problem is many of these girls will not report what happened and either carey it to the grave with them or only tell their closest friends. I personally know someone who has tried to hang herself because of that. She's only alive because what she tied the rope to broke. Luckily she's doing a lot better today

I get that, just squash the beef there and then. But it's a slippery slope with the internet. Everyone is recording everything. Things people say and do live forever on the internet, I think it's also just a overall dumbing down of the current young generation that leads to escalating things and making brash uninformed decisions. Lots of factors..

Terrible, I really hope she is doing better.

That's a whole other topic I won't get started on though.. I wouldn't win that argument on the internet, (sadly) Lol

Yeah, most of time I feel like my parents saying all that “back in my day” crap, but the more and more BS we see kids/teens doing everyday, it definetly always goes back to social media and how it seems to be a poison to them. That’s just me of course, and yeah it was a slow day for me too, annndd I always have something to say about these kinds of topics.

All are really good point and am sure all contribute to how things are going with the youngins today but i honestly think that biggest thing is parenting, it starts with how the parents are raising them and disciplining early on..... i agree with that @dtaco06 says about snowflakes/"helicopter" parenting. Guarantee that if the parents of these kids shooting also saw series repercussions all other parent would pay a lot more attention to what there kids are doing.

The schools don't allow it. When I was in 7th grade my at the time friend hit me, so I proceeded to chase him down and punch him in the face. I was the one punished and given detention on my birthday

I think the reality is yes kids are as emotionally tough as they used to be, but a lot of that comes from how they are being raised. They teach anti bullying instead of how to deal with a bully, so when they are confronted with a bully they just don't know how to deal with it and go straight to drastic measures. The kids that are smart enough to know what to do get punished for it. Its a fucked system

I honestly can't imagine the difficulties of trying to raise a kid by yourself. i feel pretty lucky to have both my parent around raising us...although only one income and poor as shit but still a big difference. Robbie is more than capable of handling himself and a good kid from what i've seen the few times but these things always seem to point to it being caused by some kind of bullying....like mentioned earlier no one teaches how to deal with a bully and personally i'd rather have my kid deck some fool messing with her than getting pushed around.

Society is very much broken and kids are soft. There are too many angles to pinpoint any single or handful of reasons why, but I can spin every single issue to show that the liberal agenda is to blame.

Agreed. That whole subject is on the personal side for me
True also. The parents play a huge factor in it. I had this one family come into my shop and the 7 year old was litterally jumping onto the parents, climbing up posts and generally disobeying/disrespecting his parents. It got to the point I almost yelled at him.

There's so many factors affecting today's kids in a negative way and its sad. Hopefully shit stops going down hill and gets better

Haha when we go camping and l my family and their kids are there, they run amuck freely around camp all day and night. Of course, something always happens and one of the kids ends up crying and tattling. We make it very clear that if nobody is bleeding or not breathing, then tattling is not allowed.

An easy lesson to teach kids is that if you are strong enough to throw a rock, then you are strong enough to get hit by a rock.
