It was good seeing you again Dave. I didn't know if I would see much difference with the upgrade to Pro since the previous version was so good and mostly upgraded for the AGM setting. But the Pro is noticeably better. On the way home, I found myself coasting along at times while maintaining almost 80 with very little throttle. I'm looking forward to the performance after putting on a few miles.

Angela @Nomad26 She had 4.88's installed today. She contacted me while they were installing her gears. She wanted to get upgraded as soon as they finished. On her way home she stopped in we upgraded her to KDMAX-Pro with lite throttle and 4.88 gear settings.

Brett @bcmbcmbcm Came in today with his Super clean Barcelona red 2022 OR MT. Got him tuned up with KDMAX-Pro with Sport throttle + AGM settings for his dual AGM battery setup. Also got the seat belt chimes turned off!!

I just made it home after a long (SoCal traffic) drive. Thanks Dave! Worth the trip and effort for sure. Here is what I can report:

I have about 2500 miles on the truck. I broke it in gently for the first 1500 miles or so (including 1000 miles from the dealer to my house) and did an early oil change to get some wear metals out. If you are interested here is the report:


The tune was worth the time and expense. Setting up the charging cycle for AGM and turning off the seatbelt chime was a big plus too.

Here is what I noticed:

1. Sluggishness reduced greatly-makes it borderline 'fast'
2. Torque improved all around. With the MT I felt less of a need to downshift to avoid lugging. I could easily start up in higher gears.
3. Top end feels richer too. From 3k to redline it feels smooth and nice

No dyno here, just my butt. And I don't think it's the placebo effect-its real. I'm too old for that and would be honest with myself and all of you if it were not.

Zero side effects.

I appreciate cranking up the voltage for the AGM batteries. Matt at Offgrid Engineering suggested I do this but I wasn't sure how to get it done. Once Dave saw the AGMs he suggested it. I asked in advance about turning off the seatbelt chime. And if you are thinking 'wear your seatbelt', yes I do...just not to pick up the mail or maneuver on private property.

The cost was reasonable. I was happy to pay Dave to do the install. I am sure I could have figured it out but it was more convenient and easier to let the pro handle this one.

Thanks Dave for making it convenient to meet- this is much appreciated. As you know getting around SoCal is tricky and I was able to find a window of time that fit in with my schedule.

Steve came by this afternoon needing a ECU update and the KDMAX-Pro+ with Normal throttle 35's and 5.29's settings.
He was extremely happy after his test drive. He was impressed with how much the Pro+ improved his trucks overall performance.

Got the tune +agm boost 18 months ago and love it! What is this PRO voodoo you speak of and how can it make my ride beetter than it is already?

 

KDMax-Pro

- More usable and noticeable low end torque
- Octane learning--good for Regular or Premium gas.
- Improved/smoother shifting.
- 4Lo tested- smooth and strong at low speeds.
- More user friendly throttle settings/names and just three choices:

Auto Transmission
1. Sport throttle- Aggressive, linear (much like our Regular/aggressive now but optimized for less jerky low speed)
2. Normal throttle- Used for Daily Driving but aggressive and linear (much like the old SLT but optimized and linear)
3. Lite throttle- Like the Stock/WifeTip throttle but optimized to be linear and smooth

Manual Transmission
1. Sport Throttle- most aggressive and responsive.
2. Normal Throttle- more than stock but easier for Daily Driving.
3. Lite Throttle- more than stock but 5% less than Normal.

 

Brian @Tacomod came back in this morning with his 2021. He has been adding some weight with lots of new armor. He has a new CBI rear swingout bumper ready to be installed.
Truck is really coming together nice Brian. He was running KDMAX6.0 we updated him to KDMAX-Pro+ Sport throttle and AGM voltage settings.

I knew it was going to be better but this is a rather remarkable, across-the-board improvement.

First time in a long time that I've seen my truck shift to and hold 6th while traveling up hill.
