    @PapaRee and @TWTaco

First and foremost. It’s humbling to find genuine people. Kreg and Dave are two of them.

Kreg, thank you for doing what do with these tunes and passing that onto Dave. Much appreciated!

Dave, just a good human you are. We spent a long, great day, together in Phoenix and it was an even better time getting to know you.

As for the tune! We had 16 people yesterday Dave tuned. Not a single person left without a smile on their faces and completely impressed with the life you bought back into everyone’s truck. Explaining the difference is not doing the tune justice. You must sit behind the wheel tap or mash that throttle for the first time and you’ll understand.

My truck never felt as it should until after the K&D Performance Tune was added. It drives better than it did new and performs as it never has.

As others have said and I’ll echo. Get this tune!!!

I want to thank you again for hosting Phoenix tune day! It was great talking with you about trucks and life in general! Your wife was super nice letting me crash at your BEAUTIFUL home for the night and allowing us to take up your time from her! It was a huge success for everyone! Met some great guys and girls yesterday!
Listening to all there common complaints about the Tacomas poor driving experience's. I was genuinely feeling there frustrations! I was super excited to tune each truck just to see the SMILES :D we were able to put on there face's with our K&D Performance tune! Hope to see you again in the future! I hope to get another tune day setup before summer so get the word out everyone!
    Thanks Again Troy & Shirley!!!!
    Dave.

Hard to follow that but I met Dave at noon today at his house and got a tune. Let’s just say it’s a tragedy that Toyota ships Tacomas in that condition if this tune is possible! It drives like a V8 with whiplash power from a standing stop. No hunting gears and just feels like it’s always in the right gear and way more torque!

Thanks gents, it’s the best mod on the market!

First off, thank you @tclavell for hosting, much appreciated and I’m sorry I wasnt able to stick around longer.

The truck just glides now @TWTaco.. thats the only way I can describe it. It coasts after I lift off the gas, acceleration just pulls from a dead stop and it doesn’t seem to end! As much as I try to describe it to friends it makes me sad that the truck didn’t come like this from the factory. It drives like it should have from the factory; it’s sad Toyota didnt sell it with these parameters from the factory but I’m extremely happy with the remedy. Thanks for taking the time to come over to AZ for us.

    Hi papaRee,
I am new to TW and this forum. Came across this while browsing through. I have a 2018 off-road trd and I am very interested in finding out more after reading through all the comments. How much do you charge to do the tune? How are you different from OV Tune? Will this tune void my mfg warranty?

    Thanks for the interest.
The pricing is in the first post.
We are different than OVtune because the 2.0 Ovtune tunes are "Base" tunes and our tune is a "Performance" tune.
If you are looking for more power, more throttle, and smooth aggressive shifting, then the KD performance tune is what you want.
If you are just looking for a better driving truck with more predictable shifting and a "how it should have been from Toyota", then the 2.0 base tune is for you.
Both tunes are not detectable by Toyota, so there should be no problem with warranty. There have been no reports of anyone having any problems with warranty work.
Now, if you walked into a dealership and said "I have a tune on my truck, will you warranty the ECU?", I would imagine they would say "no". But your ECU will identify as the "stock" tune if Toyota checks it.
Let us know if you have any other questions or if you want to schedule getting your truck tuned.

Are you able to do logging with this tune? Do the shift points remain the same with adaptive cruise control? Anyone in San Diego comfortable letting me check out the tune?

Dave and I have been logging and monitoring our trucks with this tune for a while. I use OBD Fusion and monitor multiple PID’s. But you can log with techstream or any other logging app/program. Here is a screenshot of my dashboard. All numbers have been well within acceptable ranges.
    D2B554FC-31E7-44E3-9631-3AF16096371A.jpg 35E31E57-486D-40D9-B552-48F030937AC4.jpg
As far as adaptive cruise, neither Dave, nor I have it, but we have tuned multiple trucks that do. With Vftuner, I am able to edit the Cruise Control shift points, but the adaptive Cruise Control stays like stock. The regular Cruise Control has shift points adjusted to keep the truck in 5th and 6th gear on the highway unless you are going up steep inclines, then it will appropriately shift down to 4th.

if you have any specific logged values that you would like to know (trans temp, coolant temp, KCLV, knock F/B, etc) let me know. But I can assure you that they have remained in normal ranges.
We made sure that we thoroughly tested this tune prior to flashing anyone besides our own trucks.

Why is Adaptive CC unable to use the new shift points?
