Artie @blksubykid came by this afternoon with his 2013 4x 4Runner. This rig is a beast. Flashed to him the KDMAX-Pro+XT. After his test drive he was very happy. He felt the response and added power and the much smoother shifting. Artie will be heading out on a big trip and will post a review when he returns.

Hello @powder1134 - full disclosure I am part of the KDMAX Pro tuning group, but with that disclosure also comes the fact that I have enjoyed the evolution of the KDMAX Pro tunes so much (especially the latest release) that I purchased a 2010 AT 4.0L to help being all we have and learned on the 3rd gens to the 2nd gens. After much effort and assistance from @PapaRee the result is tunes that over the 2nd gen AT/MTs with a growing library of options. With the creation of the tunes it also provides us with the base to support those that tow (and tow heavy), oversized tire setups, and regear options. Even if we did nothing but support those over stock it would be a welcome improvement.

Since the 2nd gen is now a daily for my driving daughter it was critical that the tune was both reliable, safe, and beneficial. As you may feel in your truck as stock, the shift points are early and the acceleration is very respectable the great thing about tuning what we can is making was is good even better! The result is a tune that leverages the 2nd gen gearing coupled with a smooth and essentially endless pull to 90 MPH. Its a smooth performing tune that is a noticable and welcome refinement over the stock drivability.

I've had the pleasure of starting to roll out the 2nd gen tunes recently and can get some other owner feedback outside myself. They are fairly new tunes so I certainly will be looking for their longer term reviews but I will get you some of their insights. I can say that everyone's initial impressions have been that the updates are a welcome and worthy improvement and that was just what we were expecting!

 

Met up with Jason @Jstaehnke with his 2017 OR. Got him updated and Flashed KDMAX-Pro+XT with Normal throttle.
Jason was really not happy after recently purchasing his Tacoma with the gear hunting, lack of power and response.
After a quick test drive Jason could feel the improvements and he cant wait to get it out on the highway. It was good meeting you Jason. Thanks for meeting up early.

Louis came by this morning with his 2019 Sport LB. He was so unhappy with the stock tune. Flashed him to the KDMAX-Pro+XT with Normal throttle. He took it for a test truck and was so happy he couldn't believe the transformation his truck went through after the KDMAX-Pro+XT tune was flashed. Justin @Guaco_Taco came in this morning with his 2021 OR. Updated him and flashed KDMAX-Pro+XT with Normal throttle. After the test drive he was extremely happy.
The power and performance is exactly what he was looking for.

I got my truck tuned with the KDMAX-Pro-XT with the sport throttle by Dave a few months back. I just wanted to drop back in and report that after a couple of months, it's by far the best mod that I've done to my truck. Before I had done anything to my truck, the sport throttle was pretty touchy - it didn't take very long for me to get used to the throttle response, but it was definitely touchy. But now that I have my camper shell and decked system installed, my truck does not feel sluggish at all - The sport throttle was definitely the right way to go.


If you're on the fence, I highly recommend going for it.

Upgraded Joe this morning he has been tuning with KDMAX since KDMAX6.0. Joe has been waiting to get back in for the update but wanted to finish his build first. Joe has a 2019 2wd on 35's and regeared with 5.29's that he has turned into an amazing Long Travel Desert Runner. Nice job on your truck build Joe. It was good talking with you again.
Joe just texted me after his 50 mile trip back home his mpgs are up from 13 to 15mpg. He is loving the extra torque and his highway driving is so much more enjoyable. He now has passing power he lost with the addition of the 35's.

 

Brian @Brian125 came in this morning with his 2019. Updated and flashed the KDMAX-Pro+XT with Normal throttle. Brian is visiting family he is from New Mexico and will be driving back tomorrow. Ed @bdg614 Came in with his 2022 Limited. He wasn't happy with the lack of throttle response and the terrible highway shifting. Flashed him to KDMAX-Pro+XT with Normal throttle. After his test drive he could feel the improvements and is looking forward to getting some highway miles on it. It was good meeting you Ed. Let us know how your enjoying the Pro+XT.

 

Met up with Lloyd @h2beezy with his 2022 Access Cab in Carmel Valley, San Diego. Lloyd does a lot of highway driving and he just hates the gear hunting and lack of power. Flashed him to KDMAX-Pro+XT with Normal throttle setting. It was good meeting you Lloyd. Let us know how your enjoying the Pro+XT.

 

Larry came in this morning with his 2016 Sport 2wd. Updated and flashed him to KDMAX-Pro+XT with Normal throttle.
Larry was looking for better overall drive ability. After his test drive the Pro+XT was exactly what he was looking for. Larry does tow a small trailer he is looking forward to how well it will perform towing. It was good talking with you this morning. Nick Came in with his 2019 Access Cab. He wasn't happy with the overall drive ability of his Tacoma. Was unhappy with power, response and most of all the terrible shifting.
He tows a small trailer and carries a couple dirt bikes in the bed. Updated his ECU and flashed KDMAX-Pro+XT with Normal throttle. His test drive went really well he immediately felt the extra power and torque and is really happy with the throttle response. Nick will be doing a trip in a couple weeks with his dirt bikes and trailer. Look forward to hearing how his trip goes all loaded up with his trailer. It was good meeting you Nick. Sean @ZippyBasher came in this morning with his 2 week old 2022 OR. Same story here Sean just wasn't happy with Shifting, Power, Torque and Throttle response.
