Well today we went back to the rollers with @TWTaco ‘s truck using @PapaRee ‘s KD Performance tune. Last time we used my truck using 33” M/T’s and while the performance numbers were good... using stock tires was great!

Stock and OVTune 2.0 seemed to have the power dip at about 5300 RPM, and KD Performance has a pretty linear power curve all the way up to the 6300 RPM fuel cut that’s built into Toyota’s software.

All tunes were using the premium 91+ octane maps!

    Stock put down 233 WHP
    OVTune 2.0 w/THX 240 WHP
KD Performance 270 WHP +37 Over Stock!

    Outstanding numbers Kreg and Dave!

Ladies and Gentlemen, the numbers do not lie. Having this much power in our trucks is simply unbelievable.

Thank you both for doing what you do for the community and our trucks!

This is awesome to know. I did not ask what the expected gains were the other day as you mentioned you were about to go get it dyno'd.

Interestingly enough, guys without having re-geared, may actually see higher numbers!

Awesome tune Dave! It feels like a different truck! Should have done this a long time ago! Thanks for the ECU upgrade! Didn't know I had to! And thanks for improvising with the 87 tune! Your time and patience is much appreciated! Quick, efficient!

Those still thinking to decide to tune...dont think! Just do! PM This guy @TWTaco! Awesome upgrade over the expensive s/c route! I may not need the s/c at all!

    Update on my tune:

Before tune i had 2200 rpm flat road at 65mph (cruise control) with 2800 rpm revs at 3% grade. avg mpg 17.2.

    D520781E-2EBD-4864-A5AF-5645AE9A62FC.jpg

Now with the tune its 2000 rpm 65mph flat road. 3% grade 2500 rpm. Getting a whopping 19.3mpg! 2mpg increase in same conditions.

    C6CB14CB-C72E-46B0-BC93-C5DF1CF0B49F.jpg

Its shifts almost like a cvt. Its soo smooth shifting. Holds gears at higher power band. Like im driving a sedan. And I was told to allow 3 fill ups for the break in period of the ecu. This is just after half tank used! Could be better?!? This is awesome!

    91 octane fuel on a 87tune btw!! I am a happy man Dave @TWTaco
