This has probably already been asked a million times but I looked through 20 pages and couldn't find anything. I have an '05 Taco and the bottom 6 inches around the entire body has an orange peel texture in the paint. I googled it and it looks like it is normal, something about a protective coating, but I thought I would ask people I knew were knowledgable.

Glad to hear it. Was having a lot of sleepless nights thinking I was going to have to sand and repaint half my truck after I just bought it.

Nothing wrong w/ the paint. Check out just about any Toyota and you'll see the same texture around the bottom of the vehicle. I had it on my 2003 Lexus IS300 before I sold it, too.

the coating is called stone or rockguard.it is put on by toyota at the factory to prevent the payint from peeling or chipping. it is a great feature. look at rangers and gm products and you wil see what happens after a few years without it
