This was at the very top of my price range. Luckily I am in some very favorable living arrangements or I wouldn't be able to afford it. One of the reasons I am going to take care of it.

Thanks for the info, I didnt plan to wax or seal it for a couple months anyway due to my work schedule so that's good. As much as I love having dirt and mud on a truck, I want to make sure this paint shines, lol, so I may adopt your regiment as I learn more about proper care.

Pick up some Meguars Fast Finish. It's an aerosol paint sealant. Spray on, wipe off. As simple as that and laves a slick, glossy surface. And it actually has some great longevity. That'll get you by until you have time to do a full detailing session. You can put it on glass, too (skip the windshield), as well as plastics. I love the stuff.

Shouldn’t have to wait for paint to cure on new vehicle. Paint is baked at a much higher temp than what a body shop can do.

Awesome! Thank you. I have a decal on the hood scoop, is it safe on that?

I wouldn't spray directly on it. But I wouldn't hesitate to wipe it with the already slightly damp microfiber you use on the rest of the vehicle.

Start with the hood. After the hood, the towel will be slightly damp with product. Without adding additional product, just make a couple light swipes on the decal.

If you fold a 16x16" microfiber twice, you'll have 8 total clean surfaces with which to work. That's plenty for the whole truck. 3 faces for each side, one for hood, one for roof.

Thanks for the tips. I really appreciate it.

I never even thought about folding the towel to have multiple clean surfaces. Always used multiple towels. Thanks for that. Now I feel stupid, lol. Ya learn something every day!

Great point, I was reading about fresh body shop paint jobs. Plus most new cars and trucks are probably at least a month or two from the assembly line by the time they get into an owner's hands.
