Talked to dealer again today. FWIW, and she may be wrong, it is being built next week in TX ... that doesn't jive with what we know about VIN numbers and models ... I guess I'll find out when it gets here.

I think there is a lot of smoke being blown by the dealers..I've been gassy for while now. Last time I was in, 9/2 I was told the truck was built the previous day, 9/1. I'm aslo a 3TMDZ, but dealer said he didn't know where it was built, and that it was 4-6 for delivery. Another thread claimed was told about 20 days for delivery. So either the Mexico build slows delivery, or theyre just spitballing. Seems Toyota would have the customs pretty streamlined at this point t but maybe not. I'm not even positive mime was built when he said, just trying to appease me and my deposit.

Same experience. Build date came and went. I killed my first order because of it. I realized all I had accomplished was lock myself into a potentially crappy deal just because that particular dealer was willing to take my money and promise a truck to spec that might come in whenever. As soon as I put the deposit down I received zero info until they finally came back with a price which was insane. Still waiting for my deposit check back after a week.

Just got confirmation that mine is an approved build (TRD Sport DCLB w/everything), but given the caveat of "depending on availability of build parts."

Apparently, they're running out of moon roofs, JBL, NAVs, and safety sensors. WTF? We put the initial order in August 10th!

I wanted heated seats, its cold after a long day at Alta. Had the JBL in my second gen, definitely worth the coin to me. The monroof will get used, but that wasn't what sold me.

Another order. This time deposit with CC. No dates. Actually about to follow up because they have not even charged my card yet despite me initialing a print out and faxing it that had the numbers that worked for me. Have never been presented with an official quote sheet (toyota graphics/logos all fancy and professional)like others have posted with either deals. Its almost back of cocktail napkin stuff.

When I went in last week, it was to have my deposit refunded. The guy I first spoke with was no longer employed. They passed me to a senior guy, but he didn't meet my expectations regarding communication and information. Talked to a sales manager and told him I didn't care about having it right away, just wanted exactly what I wanted. He then said it was built day before. We worked out a price for my trade, and negotiated the final price. It's not a fancy offer sheet, but its a printout from their quoting system, so not chicken scratch. We agreed on numbers and he signed it.

Like I said, I'm fine to wait, just questioning the honesty regarding the timeframe. Wouldn't be surprised if it appears in the week or two. Wouldn't be surprised if it took to early October.

But overall I would say I am now satisfied, just marking time.

Interesting, when I ordered my 13' OR; I had to put down a $1k non-refundable deposit. They told me it was non-refundable because I had ordered an abnormal configuration which wasn't built outside of custom orders, mainly due to the all weather rubber flooring (carpet delete) option that I wanted. It wasn't a big deal to me though, because I had test driven several models prior to putting that deposit down. If I didn't want to take delivery of the truck I ordered for some reason, I still could have ordered a different vehicle from the same dealer under my non-refundable deposit. I just couldn't get the cash back.

Also for what it's worth; I ordered my 13' OR at the end of September 12' and took delivery in the first week of November. So these wait times don't surprise me one bit. Mine was delivered to PA through a port in NJ.
