Ordered same vehicle ... cement DCSB MT with tech and premium package. In 2018 these were only built in TX and was ordered in Feb and received June.

 

Didn't all Tacoma production shift to Mexico for the 2020s?

 

Next year it ends in Texas, but the new plant in Mexico started production recently though.

 

Couldn't tell you for sure if thats all true or not. I had to go through a huge dealer to get the tacoma i wanted. Most of the smaller dealers were not interested or felt it was a pita for them to order the truck. Took over 6 weeks before the covid-19 bs, but i got everything i wanted and a bit more.

 

I worked at the dealer. I’ve seen dealers never receive a particular model with certain items because they never sold one so Toyota won’t allocate them one. Toyota sends to the dealer based on dealer sales that’s why some dealers have certain trucks readily available and some may never have that particular one.

 

This is accurate in my experience also. I recently (end of May) ordered a 6MT TRD Off-Road with the basic tech package and went through the highest volume Toyota dealer in Houston for this exact reason. Even still - they did not want to commit to any definitive timeline based on the current situation.

 

I "ordered" my Quicksand Sport AC MT back in early February and was told it would be produced around June 29 due to the delay. Who knows?

 

The only Tacomas built at the Texas plant are Pros and all manual transmission models, I believe.

 

Ya, same for me. I put down a deposit on an VB AC Sport manual the end of January.
They’re telling me the target build date is around July 10th.
The dealer gave me the VIN and when I look it up it lists Mexico as the build location.
I’m getting kinda antsy!

 

I can tell you the texas plant but my quicksand access cab in the sr5 v6 auto version with some added options that i could not find on any dealers lot here locally.

 

On a happier note I checked the web site last night and they are now showing no payments for 6 months. I'm sure you will be paying interest for that 6 months though

 

I ordered my 2017 Limited Trim model with add OEM options from my dealership in early September, and did so because at that time a nation wide search did not find exact truck I wanted new.

The truck was delivered to me December 3 2016. Get what you want OP. Sucks about all the different variables slowing down delivery for you, but good things come to those that wait.

 

Dealers did a search for what i wanted to but nothing came up...said it had to be ordered. 3 dealers i went to didn't want to bother with one of them recommending one of toyotas bigger regional dealers.

 

I just “placed” an order for a magnetic grey trd pro with bed gate lock, door protectors and the rear “black” Tacoma logo. Made the order and deposit on 6/52020 at supposedly the largest toyota dealer in the world (longo toyota). They quoted up to 6 months, we’ll see.

 

Current leaked concensus is that the 2021 TRD Pro special color will be Lunar Rock, currently on RAV4. Glad I got my AG.

 

i have literally never seen a magnetic gray TRD pro. Are you sure you ordered a pro?

 

It is one the current four current color choices for a Pro.

 

Yeah, local dealers here had them on the lot ready to go back in feburary.

 

I’ve seen a handful on the East coast, but none on the west. Plus it seems dealers have very little to no interest in trading trucks for the time being. This could change in 6 months as they begin to replenish their inventory.

Before I made the switch to grey, I was looking for white. I had 6 dealers tell me to get lost when I said I wouldn’t pay their markups.
