ok, so i'm in the process of ordering a 3 inch lift from toytec. i spoke to a tech over the phone and i asked him if UCA's are necessary. he advised to hold off and see if i absolutely need them. any advice? should i purchase everything at once or take his advice and hold off on em?

For a 3 inch lift, get new UCA's. Some even need them for 2.5 inches of lift. You will end up getting them anyway because your truck will wander all over the road without them.

I needed them no point in paying for an alignment twice. it will ride better with after market UCAs too.

You'll probably end up wanting them but you may find you're not too picky about the way the truck handles.

Don't listen to any of them. I'm right.

Get em. I put a lift on my '07. While I dont need them (somehow have enough clearance to get my finger between the UCA and spring when fully extend and compressed), I still plan to put them on. I even got my alignment damn near perfect in my garage (tracks dead straight and no issues when turning), but still will be putting my LR UCAs on and getting it aligned. If you need em, you dont have to wait. If you dont, put em on and get it aligned, or leave em off and sell em.
