After a chance visit to my local dealer yesterday I have decided to pick up a new ride. Due to Toyota significantly reducing the MSRP and lease rate by 2 points I am able to move from my '07 TRD DC 4X4 LB to a 2010, same truck again in BSP but with leather and the newer options for $60 less a month. I am keeping ALL of my mods/accessories and they are going to have my lift, wheels and tires installed on my new truck. I have a friend who is a tech there and he is doing all of the work at no cost to me and I know he will do it right. They are also making my first payment for me and waiving the usual liscense and registration fees due at signing.

I absolutely attribute the reductions and flexibility to the corporate crisis brewing right now. Keep in mind that I'm not so naive to think that anyone is going broke on the deal and I also have a suspicion that they have someone who wants my truck. The fact that they are going to have a very clean '07 on the lot with 50k km's on it appeals to the dealer and I'm OK with that.

I'm excited about the leather, the back-up camera and the XM sat radio. It'll be nice to not have my Sirius hanging off the dash anymore......I must admit that the extra 60 bones/month looks pretty good too.:)

I have had the discussions that we have all had with people who are concerned with the Toyota quality and reutation. In those conversations I usually sum them up by saying..."This is the best truck I've ever had and would buy another one tomorrow!". I really hadn't planned on following through anytime soon but........:D

Delivery is April 10th and right now it's on a train from Vancouver. Pics of course soon thereafter.;)

I have thought about this many many times, but being as its off season I dont think I would get a good interest rate.

Edit: Oh ya, congrats on the great deal. :woot:

Sound like a sales pitch from Toyota to get some idiots to trade in their Trucks for a new one so they can make their numbers look good. $60 less a month, but for an extra 4 years....

The 07 is the same as a 10. just a few extra accessories that you could get done aftermarket for a lot cheaper anyways...

Marc, that is great news and it sounds like you will have one sweet new ride that will look a lot like your old 07 with some extra creature comforts!
It was nice to hear a good story and cannot wait to hear of your new adventures with the 2010!! :woot:

No sweat, believe me I've been called worse. To be clear......I'm no financial mastermind and have made some BAD decisions when it comes to vehicles. My opinion is that the smartest thing to likely do is to buy one of these trucks, pay it off and drive it to 500,000 miles or more. The simple fact of the matter is that sometimes you just want a new truck.:D

that is actually a great deal, if you consider moving the car parts over. i assume the 07 will get all the new bits from the 2010? i was just looking at the black truck on another thread. what a great truck.

mhagan said it all wrong: but i know what he means. as i pay down a car, i stare at the horizon, dreaming about a life without that damn truck payment. i typically wont worry too much about the +/- of the new car payment. i would stay the course, and go for the zero car payment. i am done with car payments..hate them with a passion.

    Wow .... 3.9%!!

So you were obviously able to get enough to pay off your '07?

Hmmmmmm ... guess they wouldn't give me enough to pay off my '09 that I just bought 6 months ago would they? LOL..

    Congrats!!

Do all the newer trucks come with vehicle stabiliity control and side air bags? Is this the primary diifference between the 07 and a 2010?

Leather is an option on the Canadian trucks , not sure if it is offered in the US on the 2010's ,

Arrived last night, I take delivery Wednesday or so. Also, my '07 is being bought by one of the guys on my crew. We have worked together since I bought the truck and he has always admired it. He and his wife are avid paddlers, cross-country skiers and outdoors people and they have three dogs. They live in the country and truck is perfect for their lifestyle...... I'm really happy for them. :)

It'll look purty in no time. Sounds like your 07 is going to a good home too. Congrats Marc, can't wait to see it when it all comes together. :)
