Ordered front wheel bearing, came already pressed in assembly?

So I ordered two front wheel bearings off ebay (108 bucks with shipping) thinking I was just getting the bearing and this is what I got.

Are they already pressed? Can i just bolt these on and go?

 

You must press in the hub. Press it out of your old bearings, cut off the old outer race. Then press the hub into the new bearing. Don't forget your new wheel seals!

the first pic looks like someone hammered the heck outta the race . If you decide to install , be sure the bearing feels good before you put it in . Doesnt look like a bearing press was used .

It just looks like that in the picture because of shipping grease, They are smooth and feel good.

 

I have a 1st gen, and mine came all assembled like that also. But what I am trying to find out is if its already has the right type of grease inside of the bearings. Thats my dilemma. is this false or true.

 

I am going to clean out and re grease with bearing grease. The grease in there looks to be just shipping grease.

 

ok my next question is....I may sound like a newb, but how do you clean out the grease when I have no knowledge on getting the bearings out to be able to pack it with grease...is there a special tool or something to disassemble it?

 

Before it's pressed in, the bearing races wil come out and you can add grease.

Last bearing I had, I could only take off one race though...

 

I can pull one race out with my hand but the other is stuck in there.

 

I am no expert, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night. clean them with gas or fuel and blow them out with air, then pack away.....

But it is hard as hell to try and get them out, Heck I can't even get any of them out. Could I bang them out or something? or is there a special technique?

 

I wish I had them in my hand, bt I have never had them out before. sorry boss

Ask any mechanic you can, it should be pretty obvious. If you don't know any, you should try to meet one in the future. they can be pretty handy.

 

Noted to self.

 

Don't bother with solvents and don't blow them out. Just wipe them off as best you can and pack new grease into them and it'll push the rest of the old stuff out. Most greases are compatible with each other but if they're not then theres only a little grease left.

I'd avoid the whole solvent air and water step, maybe if you had nasty ass used bearings you needed to clean but with new bearings just use my steps and then use his steps to pack in new bearing.
