So my local Taco Stand called me last weekend and told me they had a new 2017 (for someone else) in the configuration I wanted if I'd like to come take a look. It's exactly what I wanted (DCLB 4X4 TRD OR) , but I want the Tech Package too (moon roof etc.).

Here's a pic of it. About the only change over the '16 that's apparent is the electric sliding rear window. I guess another thread (that went wildly off subject) mentions a diff gearing change too.

So I left a deposit for the configuration I wanted and they said it should be in hopefully by this time next month. I'm prepared to wait. I didn't ask for the running boards etc., but I think I get those anyway - and have to pay for them.

Good deal man, sticking to your desired spec.

I have a 2017 on order as well, I feel your impatience!

Just got my 2016 a little over a month ago, wish I had waited for the '17 for the rear sliding window :frusty:. I ordered the same configuration as yours but in the sport. DCLB 4x4 Sport, Moon roof etc. Hopefully when it comes out there will be a way to convert my '16 to have the rear window :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

FWIW the trucks are virtually identical otherwise. With respect to the rear window I normally set-it and forget it. I'm thinking though, when I get my shell, I won't be able to open it from the bed though. When I'm camping, I'll have to remember to open that window before I climb in the back and go to sleep.

No diff gear change, same truck as the 16 only with a sliding window and may need the same TSBs.

Hope you enjoy the truck, I love my DCLB OR.

It would just be a nice feature to have. When you say electric rear window, are we talking about something similar to what the Tundra has? If so, that is something I would want. But then again, it will cost an arm and a leg to convert it I'm assuming so it's probably not worth it to me. Everything about my truck is great though, also maybe wish I would have gotten the offroad but i've seen plenty of guys go on some crazy trails with the sport. I don't plan on doing anything insane, can't justify banging up my new truck!

It's a motorized slider as in slides left and right, not up and down. Only the center section slides.

So how much did you end of paying for the truck? Hopefully not $40,000???

ehhh I don't really care for that. If it had the Tundra rear window that would be awesome.

It's just an electric side-to-side sliding. I'd love it if it retracted down, but no go.

Haven't paid yet (fixed price), but I think "Bend Over" is implicit with any So Cal dealerships. My understanding is the price will be what's on this sheet less $500 for loyalty and if I'm lucky another $500 to take off the running boards.

I'm waiting on my 2017 TRD Sport! Do all the 2017's come with a power rear window or is it an option?

According to the 2017 build docs, all TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro and Limited Double Cab models will have it standard.

Before I started looking at this forum, I wouldn't have had a clue about the ATF level issue as seen in some third gens. I'll be asking them to look at it when I pick up my 2017 in a few weeks. What are "TSBs" and are there any other outstanding things I should have them check before I sign on the dotted line?

    Thanks!

The tsb is for 2016 models, so it wont apply, even if it is needed. Good luck on the ATF.

Did not see anything about CA emissions....does the state still require that on all vehicles?
I have not seen a CA vehicle invoice in 27 years or so but it used to be extra, cant remember what all was involved besides the yearly smog inspection stuff.....PITA
