They aren’t sending 3rd gen, it’s second gen from my understanding. Either way, we will see how it plays out. Wish me luck!

Hopefully you get it! Im looking to order the 2nd gen 6112 kit from rogue but it doesnt look promising reading this

Besides all this, what notches were you looking at to set it to get the 2" lift from?

I'm going to reserve my final judgement until there is some clarity on what is actually going on. I will keep you updated.

I was going to go with the 4th notch. I asked Rogue about the spacer vs. staggering notches to account for the lean and they said best-practice is the spacer, so I ended up picking one up....we will see.

Just wanted to update: Rogue shipped out the shock today and forwarded me shipping, then I asked if I could get it next-day and they updated shipping with next-day. Despite some of the early hiccups they did get it right and sent it out to me. I will give a final update once it arrives and I can verify everything is in order, but I do have to give them credit for how they handled me yesterday and addressed the issue. Just felt like it was only fair to add in what has transpired since that post.

sounds like a vendor that knows how to do the right thing. Hope it works out - don't let them off on the warranty.

No install this weekend. The back left is still in transit and my UCAs also got held up in transit. Hopefully this next weekend. A guy I work with is a great mechanic so I’m going to pay him to do the install and teach me a few things.

Looking forward to getting it done.

Not quite....Got my shipment today and....they sent me another rear-right, with no explanation or inclusion of the additional brake-line kit that would be needed. So now i'm back to being underwhelmed. Let's see what they say this time.

I will say that the money I would have saved with Rogue is now gone, as I have spent more time trying to remedy this situation than was worth it for the "savings" at this point.

Update: The break kit was sent and it showed up via USPS and the shock showed up UPS (so did the rest of the kit). Bottom line is that they did get everything here when it was all said and done and I’m happy to eat some crow so I can get this installed.

I’m going to get some pics today, but I’m trying to get the truck cleaned first.

Update: got just about 3” in the front and about 2” in the rear. So far so good with the ride. Just had about 40-50 miles with mixed freeway and in town. The biggest thing I notice is the front doesn’t dip when stopping or slowing for corners.

Glad I went with the JBA UCAs. Needle bearing swap went good and my needle bearing was already showing wear at 7k miles in!

Went with icon Aal pack and took out stock overloads. So far so good. I got a few teardrop trailers and the jack stands would barely scrape pre-lift and I’m interested to see if I notice any ride and/or backing in difference with the new kit.

I’ll add alignment specs once I add pics too. Then I can debate if I want to stay with these tires or not. Haha

I’m happy with how it sits, and it’ll be interesting to see what happens when it settles. I might go to a 275/70/17 C instead of these 265/70/17 E. I don’t think the tires look bad though!

It looks great man. I’m seriously considering doing the 2nd gen 6112’s on my 18 sport as well. I refuse to wait for an unknown amount of time on the 3rd’s. It’s either this or 5100’s and I’m torn on what to do. Only looking for 2” front and rear. Did you get it aligned yet?

I searched a bunch yesterday but didn’t find anyone with any problems putting the 2nd gen version on a 3rd gen truck, other than a possible warranty issue. I’m not sure what to do. Ready to order today.

I got it aligned with no issues.

As far as warranty, I brought it up with Rogue Offroad, since I had ordered the 3rd gen and they explained they didn't have them etc. etc. then they said they would send 2nd gen. I circled back and asked about the warranty because it came on while searching on TW and Rogue said that they would be issuing the warranty, as it wouldn't go through Bilstein if something were to come up. I was hesitant, but ultimately, it was good enough for me to give it a try. I don't have any regrets.

Was that a 90 day warranty through Rogue? I believe that’s all bilstein honors on the 6112/5160. 5100’s are lifetime IIRC.

Had 5100’s on my 2nd gen Tacoma and they were fine for me, but I’d like to have a little more of an upgrade for my new truck.

I didn't even ask to be quite honest. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that either way.

Of course. I put close to 100k on a single set of 5100’s without a single issue. But I also know my luck. Haha. I just need to commit and go for it. Your truck looks great with the new stance.

I'm with you. I'm pretty much Mr. Murphy's Law. Lucky in a lot of different ways in life, but stuff like warranty, customer service etc. I always get hosed!

Thanks for the compliments on the truck. I like that it is subtle but still enough to notice and a few days in the ride is really nice and it feels like it is settling a bit.
