Ordered Super White TRD Pro

Placed a deposit on a 19 Super White Taco. Guess time will tell. Dealer says unless they can locate one it will take 4-8 weeks for an ordered one to arrive. Not holding my breath!! I believe this to be true, any thoughts?

Went for the auto trans as I have no need for a manual. Auto better suits my needs. Used to teach auto trans rebuilding so aware of their advantages and limitations. Thanks for the welcome!

What kind of fuel mileage do these Taco’ deliver in the everyday driving real world? Curious if it is much worse than Toyota advertises.

Much worse. I averaged 20mpg before my lift and tires. Now i get 17-18. Still not bad. You have to completely change how you drive though

 

Toyota does not do custom orders.

What they do is take your request and send it into Toyota. If a TRD Pro with you requests is made they can allocate it to go to that dealer.
However dealers only get a set number of TRD Pros each year. So if your dealer only has 1 allocation left but 4 orders, only 1 person is going to get their truck.
Until the VIN is put on the truck as it comes off factory lines that dealer won’t know what truck is coming in.

So if you want a Pro that bad you need to actively be looking for one online. Find it and go buy it.

Nothing is stopping a dealer from saying they will order one but they know full well, they will never get it.

DO NOT put down an unrefundable deposit. Like I said they’ll lie they have an allocation, then 6 months later they’ll tell you they can’t get it and they’ll try to sell you something else. But until then if you cancel the order they’ll keep the deposit.

If you already did the deposit I would be actively looking for another truck. If you find one, buy it, then wait for the other dealer to tell you they fucked up and refund you the deposit. OR if they do get the truck in your out the deposit.

 

That has came down a couple due to winter gas and warm ups.

My old work partner, body shop teacher, always said “ never buy a small car in a dark color, makes them look smaller and hides their body lines, look like a blob going down the road”. Another body shop teach said “ a white vehicle is difficult for anyone to be able to tell the model year”. They were in the auto body business so they would know best.

My TRD Pro was on the lot - if you want one, you should look around. I’m in Texas - seemed like all of the dealers had one on their lot. They all said that a customer ordered it and then cancelled. The one I got wasn’t loaded down with packages, either.
I paid MSRP. Got what I wanted and was happy with the dealer.
