Ordering a 2016

I'm ordering my new TRD Sport Access cab 4x4 soon. Can anyone who has ordered their truck tell me how long it took to get it? Thanks in advance

It really really depends on the configuration, the region, and the dealership, so best advice is forget you ordered it and just wait for the dealer to call. Could be weeks or months.

 

Mine took a month. I was originally looking at about 2 months but they called early. I didn't ask but it was most likely a dealer swap. I agree with 3db, just order and forget it.

 

I am working on ordering a TRD Sport 4x4 and they are telling me the truck will be here end of February beginning of March. (Southeast Toyota) They did make mention that the Sports seem to get out quicker than the ORs.

 

Ordered October 5th build date December 14th arrived at dealer December 22nd picked up on the 28th DCLB TRDOR

 

10/16 to 12/17

 

Ordered 11-28-15, canceled with dealer and reordered from separate dealer on 12-28. Now playing the waiting game!

 

Ordered 3rd week of oct, landed first week of jan. Then the dealer played hardball.

 

Ordered on 11/27. DCSB OR MGM. No word yet and the dealer has no clue. Trying to find my own answers, last weekend I looked through the threads and collected about 25 data points on delivery times and what people ordered. I only used data points where there were specific order and arrival dates. I put them in a spreadsheet and looked at the data. About half are delivered between 55 and 65 days. 20% were delivered within 30 days and 30% were more than 80 days. I don't remember any longer than 100 days. It also seemed like wait times were increasing. I didn't collect enough data to see if there were any variations by what you ordered. There's a 50% chance mine will arrive before the end of the month.

 

Ordered 10/19 and picked up 1/2 so not quite 3 months although it felts like a lot longer after all the negotiating between dealers.

 

I do know that any truck that has actually hit the sales lot in my town, sells before the week is out and it doesn't matter what color, model, extras. They all sell. My dealer said they have 20 on allocation right now in the system and all but 2 were already spoken for. it makes wait times longer as the dealers only have a certain amount of time to change the details of an allocation once it hits the system. thus they have to wait for their next allocation for your "Ordered" Vehicle.

 

Ordered on 11/5. Paid for it on 11/6. Took delivery 11/12. Ok Ok I bought someone else's canceled order. My point is, go to a Dealer and have an inventory check made for the model with equipment and color etc. that you want. They can do a search of local dealers, dealers 500 miles away or a national search. They can see status of the truck- on ground, in transit or allocation. There is a good chance that what you want already exists. You can then use that knowledge to negotiate a great price since 'if that dealer wont negotiate' on that truck you'll simply go to one who will. Is there something about your truck configuration that makes you feel it needs to be ordered?
