Ordering a tune for DIY.

Hey guys, I’d love to tune my truck for better mpgs and performance/shifting, but I live in the Middle East and I don’t know if I should trust the tune shops here. Is there a way to order an obd device with a preset tune for my truck from the usa? Which tune would yall recommend? Or can I get a tune here and tell them exactly what I want? What would I tell them to do?

I know @mZiggy and @wahoobie sell remote kits, but they will need your ECU ID to get you the right tune. I do recall there being someone in the UAE with the vF Tuner software, but they aren't on these forums and that's a good distance from you honestly.

The tunes you get from them, or anyone selling for that matter, will be locked. This means you will be unable to make changes for yourself, if that's what you were expecting. But having the vF Tuner software will allow you to make your own edits from a stock file. Alternatively, you could purchase the vF Tuner tune pack and build your own tune from there.

I went to this guy today he uses this Italian company to tune cars. He uses https://www.dimsport.it/ and these are the options. I think I’ll do the eco remap.

Have never heard of the tuner you posted but if they cracked the ECU then it's probably fine. To my knowledge only VF has done this. If you have a laptop you can buy the VFTuner software and then purchase a tune pack from whatever tuner you prefer. This will be ~$6-700 USD so long as your ECU ID is supported.

What does crack the ecu mean ?

 

Basically a proper reflash to the vehicle computer settings instead of just adjusting the pedal sensitivity (like a pedal commander).

he said it also comes with updating my engine with the latest firmware from Toyota all for 400.

 

It basically means they were able to access the contents and reverse engineer the software containing all of the tables.

D3 Performance offers tunes (although I personally wouldn't trust them) as well as ECU Tools.
