Ordering my Taco on Monday

Ordering process is sloooooow. But that's ok, i knew that going into it.

3 weeks after signing the paperwork I still don't have any confirmation from Toyota of the order, but I do have confirmation from the dealer that it has been placed. What should I be expecting at this point?

 

COVIDS have definitely interrupted the supply chain. My dealer told me that they were even slowing stuff back down this spring after the small push that got me my truck 3 weeks ago. I didn't order it, but one that matched my online build became available after another customer bailed on buying it...I lucked out

 

Just got the notification that I should be expecting delivery in May! No ID number on the build and no VIN at this point, but things are moving in the right direction!

 

if i had not "lucked" into mine, I would be waiting till May as well!!!

 

Alright! I get to finally update this thread! After 5 months and 2 days I have finally got my truck! No, it wasn't in May, but it was well worth the wait.

My dealer, Toyota of Denton, was fantastic! We made a deal in January and they honored the $1K below sticker price we agreed upon back then, with no deposit. Even though they had 2 offers for significantly more $$ for my blue Tacoma the day it arrived at the dealership to them a deal is a deal, which judging by some of the stories I read here that isn't always the case. They kept me informed, did research for me, were easy to deal with and came through on everything that we agreed upon, it was the easiest transaction I have had regarding a new vehicle as long as you don't mind the wait. If you are in the DFW and looking for a truck I highly recommend them as they were awesome to deal with..... Caveat, they are a smaller dealer so I had to wait a while for them to get the allocation.

Pictures are coming soon and I am finding myself already looking at modifications, even simple things, as I like any excuse I can get to go for a drive at the moment.
