Ordering rear bumper guard from Avid Off Road - rear sensors?

it is for a 2017 Tacoma TRD. One of the options was for "Backup Sensors". Is that to add a sensor to the guard or something in the bumper that does not interfere with OEM sensors?

 

I think it makes the oem sensors compatible if you already have that option on your truck.

For example my truck does not have the optional sensors, so I would not select that option for the bumper

 

Seems like that would mess with BSM and Cross traffic.
