Can someone with a 1st gen check their tow package tongue capacity and tow rating capacity.

IDK but i checked mine this morning, the 1st gens are supposed to all be 5,000 and 500 tongue.

    Mine says

    5,000 & 500

    Then 2002 and newer 6,000 & 600.

Not sure why i would have the capability to haul another 1k for being one year newer than a 2001...

Found this in the towing thread.

    "Gen 1 Tacoma (1995.5-2004)

The 3.4L V6 (Standard on the s-runner, and 4x4 double cab, and available in xtra-cab and double cab pre-runners as well as the xtra-cab 4x4)
    190 hp @ 4,800 rpm
    220 lb.-ft. @ 3,600 rpm
Max. Towing capacity 5,000 lbs. (*except s-runner 3,500 lbs.)
Max. Tongue weight 500 lbs. (*except s-runner 350 lbs.)

The Gen 1 trucks were NEVER available with a “towing package”

A relatively small number of trucks did come from the factory with a Toyota class III receiver hitch and 4-flat wiring. The trucks that were factory equipped like this also came with a different pitched fan to pull slightly more air through the radiator.

Other trucks had the class III hitch and 4-flat wiring installed at the dealer. These trucks do not generally have the alternate fan unless the customer specifically requested it.

To tow most things safely, these trucks will need some additional aftermarket parts installed such as a brake controller, and an automatic transmission cooler (obviously only if you have an automatic transmission. We’ll cover that later."

    Cool!

When I was in Dutch, there wasn't eagles or much less trees.
We had the killer whales swim along side near the $hit shoot for all the unwanted fish we caught and would throw away.

Biggest thing we caught was a 450lb halibut that was about 12" thick and it was still alive in the net. That was quite a show to see that thing flopping around on deck and then attempting to get it back into the water.

    35 as well.
i found a few additional coupons to knock that 183 to 160 and had some points i redeemed. if you don't have a shop your way account i recommend getting one. 20 off the top and then $10 of points as well when you purchase the battery.
e/ i bought the same battery Sunday, and they didn't ask for my old battery. thought that was weird.

Battery Jonnie. Diehard Platinum size 35 from Sears.
Currently listed at 183. Log into/create a Shop Your Way account, apply some additional coupons. Get checkout price for 163 IIRC, and earn $10 additionally in points for a next purchase at Sears. They have some great deals sometimes.

Sunday I bought one when they were on sale, paid $190 out the door. Checked last night and noticed the price dip, found some coupons, used some points, paid ~$153 OTD, returned my other one for the $190. Due to me using the points I earned for the previous purchase that had been returned ideally my returned amount should be ~180, but for some reason the guy said $195 on the phone. Will verify tonight when I pick up receipts. Very odd, but if it's correct, I just received a $229 listed price battery for $148. Fuck me, right?

Just confirmed I was refunded 195 when I purchased it at 190. The guy said "eh".
So I got it for $148 and $11.00 worth of points on top of it for the next purchase. Not bad!

haha yup! Didn't see it until I stepped on it this time. Just been on the family farm outside Yamhill. I think I'm going to start shed hunting up around Barney Reservoir. I've seen some good sized deer come out of that timberland.

I think I found a new hero. Like a God damn boss. Guns, prerunners, and babes. Good to go.
