Most likely you were just targeted for a random check. Out of the trucks on the road, tacomas get the most theft. Your truck didn't look normal - could be stolen, could be you are some dealer, who knows... the day was slow so the cop runs your plates and tails you for a bit to see if you get crazy. Report comes back that you had a few infractions, so we just stick around a bit more to let you know that you need to keep yourself safe.

Cops see a ton of people they have pulled over. They probably won't recognize you unless you were a jackass who deserved remembering.

They run the plates and see if anything important sticks out. Are you going to wave a gun when I get to your window? Is this the upteenth time you've been caught speeding and I need to take your license?
A busted taillight isn't going to go on your permanent record.

They need an excuse for pulling you over, for starters. When he mentioned the tires, he was giving you a subtle warning. He could have tagged you for reckless driving, and if you were going to be trouble, he could tag on the tire issue. Instead, you were probably civil and there's no need for him to give you a bad time. However, he has to give you a reason for pulling you over, he can't just say, "because I felt like it"

There's good cops and bad cops in this world, but there's no news like bad news... so what do you hear? Me personally, I've had favorable experiences. I had one living across the street from where I grew up, a cop let me shoot my first full auto, and I've had them help me when I needed it most.
I seriously doubt I could be a cop. They deal with the scum of society 90% of the time, and every call you get is trouble waiting on the other line. You are a mobile complaint department that gets shot at, spit at, and yelled at, and you trudge on trying to be that unsung hero each day.

I haven't had an extensive list of illegal items before. And I haven't been pulled over in about 2 years. The FJ has illegal windows and the tires stick out too far. But no I don't think they keep a record of illegal equipment unless they've given you a fix it ticket for something in the past and they notice you still haven't fixed that stuff.

My point was, you can take any sudden turns or lane changes you want but if a cop is really already checking you out, you're not going to get away. Haha

Good god I hate living with disrespectful roommates. Anyone want to give me an extra $500/month so I can live alone?

Its really only one of them. Always cooks smelly ass food, never does his dishes, never cleans his bathroom, has his girlfriends dumbass poodle over when she jogs to our house. Just bull. Luckily he's out soon.

Living with my GF is not a favorable situation. I don't want to be married until I'm married. I love her and all. But no, I want to be a kid for a while longer.

to buy a house, you have to have a down payment.
Getting stuck with a mortgage you can't pay ends up in a lien.
The reason for roommates is usually because you can't pay rent all by yourself
Getting a rental with a girlfriend is usually bad voodoo. bad roommates are nothing compared to bad girlfriends.

He can technically escape lease if the place isn't in his name, or if he can sign it over to a roommate.

Agreed. Rental with roommates is the best spot for me right now. I just need good roommates. :D

Sounds typical. I put up with some mess myself, but my dude cooks badass gourmet. I'm a mediocre meal planner.

I had a pair of those last year. That would be much better as long as he didn't leave the room smelling like fast food. Don't get your full deposit back in that situation.

That's better than my one roommate who left two cats locked up in one of the rooms for a week with a mixing bowl of cat food and one tray of litter. I had to rent an industrial carpet cleaner for that one so I could get within 15 feet of the bedroom door.

I snagged a job today, whoop whoop!
it's only a contract thing, but it's much better than unemployment and I don't have to move... I just have to drive TV highway :p

Starts Monday, so I guess I won't be at TSF early on Friday.

Got some other interviews lined up too.
