Looks like a 957 is going to pass right over Kodiak.. Love it when it's so shitty NwS won't provide a long range outlook .

Aren't they named after women? I can't imagine that Vongfong is a very attractive name.

There are some very unpredictable things happening, and the computer models are all over the place. Whatever you do not want to happen, probably will. ;) Working for the NWS is tough sometimes. When you get it right 76% of the time, people expect you to correctly predict the future like a gypsy with a crystal ball. Let me go dance around some chicken bones in my loin cloth and see if I can change that forecast for you. :D

Roger roger roger.. Was in no way meaning to bash the NWS. Really meant to say "I know it's going to be shitty when there isn't a long range outlook, due to all of the variables."

All that I know is that I won't be fishing in that weather. It gets a little pucker factor when the wind is strong enough to blow you backwards, or when you blow out a wheelhouse window. That's a fun one.

NWS does a great forecast on 4125 Khz. up here - a little bummed, the guy that had been doing them for around 15 years just moved off the island. Pretty amazing - he had an entire network of guys that would provide him with ship observations.. The new guy has a little bit of learning to do.

Not yet - but I've got a couple pieces of steel that'd make a sweet rear/front. Let's talk when I'm home..

Don't judge me, I just like to party.

I didn't know you guys have observers on board. That's pretty cool! I know you aren't NWS bashing, there weren't enough expletives. Just used to the farmers around here demanding rain right up until harvest, then they want clear blue skies. They act like we can go turn a knob and change the weather, lol.

Let me know. Erica doesn't like the looks of them, but if I can work it like I was a test dummy.....

And welcome home... kinda. See you in a few weeks.

We do carry observers for NMFS occasionally... The ship observation thing is just a network of captains that have accurate weather stations on board that provide data to the forecasters.

Might be making a trip down your way this winter. Need some r and r..

Jake, too bad I don't live within an hour of you. I have a couple pieces of steel that could make for a great bashing bumper that would stop rounds from a pistol, and maybe ever from an AR15.

Fawk.. got our asses kicked as we were leaving the dock after offload. Think this blow may be ahead of schedule; got a few gusts 40 +, snowing too..

A tumbler of Balvenie and a rolling diesel stove make that a little more tolerable.

well back from the dentist... Have to wait till december to see if one of my teeth will die or not :( God damn new kids.....

Will receive at least one crown, maybe two. They felt my concern with having to pay later on out of my own pocket. As long as i dont agree to accept money for this claim from workers comp, the claim will stay active. Which means if something were to happen to the crown and repairs, Im still covered by the claim and it wont cost me shit. :D Im happy now.. minus the fact that part of my teeth are still in a field rotfl.
