So I stumbled across a guy willing to let a Warn M8000 go for $100. However, the solenoids are bad and the control box has a crack. Think its still a good deal? I'm thinking receiver hitch mount for it.

Make sure the new control box is a contactor and not a solenoid

There is nothing on them you can't rebuild. It's a great deal, you can't go wrong.

Still no snow. Still no open pass for snowboarding. Single digit weather and sunny this whole week. Much depression.

I'm looking at suspension and I'm realizing I'm just more and more retarded on how much there is to know.
I'm going to try calling ICON tomorrow with some bullet points

Are you thinking of uprgrading? Going MT or LT? Like rob said pile your head into the LT section if that's what your going towards. Others most of the guys in the MT thread know their shit pretty well.

I just want something that will work better than the OME. I'm fine with height and not interested in a big investment if possible.
I'm concerned with how the OME are now too short, and I don't want whatever new thing I get to be 'destroyed' because of the full extension length.

    This looks helpful.

I also did some minor reading, and unless I want to get a PhD in suspension, there's already companies out there that know all this stuff and I just have to feed them some info to plug in. Attempting to find full droop and compression is unnecessary since I haven't changed any geometry and I'm using a widely known set of springs where those numbers are already known (if I was using the shackle flip still and decided to have built those Chevy springs, this would be different).
The only real hard part at this time is weight at each wheel. Doing some hillbilly math, my vehicle is 5500lbs, so divide by 4 and each wheel can see around 1375lbs, so it's safe to assume my bathroom scale isn't up to the task of getting the real number (I wasn't expecting it to, but if someone came back and told me "oh hey, there's an easy way", I'd feel less dumb)

With your weight up front I would recommend 700# springs and definitely an extended length shock. I would look for a 2.5 and not a 2.0 front coilover. Icon, Fox, King and ADS are all popular with the MT guys. I love my Icons. I wish I had their UCA and stronger LCA but maybe that will come in the future

DSM am SDHQ are both great help. When I called and talked to the guys at DSM they took my dumb questions in stride. And answered everything.

Hey guys, member in trouble in the PDX area!

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/no...l-member-blown-rear-pdx-needs-assistance.html
    Help!
I just blew my rear diff as I was about to leave downtown Portland. (Thankfully I hadn't hit the freeway yet!)
I am currently parked in front of the Century Building, 1208 SW 13th Ave, cross streets SW 13th and Jefferson. Barcelona Red DCLB with a black softopper, ARB front bumper, and sliders.
If anyone nearby can assist, it would be GREATLY appreciated. My cell phone number is 949.233.0959.
I have a spare complete 3rd at home in SoCal. The Traveler (Matt) has offered to overnight it to me. I have my hand tools with me; what I need are: place to work, impact wrench with large socket for the pinion nut, quality gear lube, gasket maker (jack stands, gasket removal tools, and magnets would be helpful tools to have, as well).

Or if anyone could hook me up with a tow to Grants Pass where my kids and mom are, that would also be incredibly helpful. Or a tow all the way to SoCal, for anyone heading that way anyway [IMG]

    Thanks in advance!

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
    Thanks Brady! I appreciate it.

Anyone know any shops in the area that might be able to get me on my way?

I'm struggling as well Mike. I've been reading the coilover bible and I'm compiling a list of questions for the LT guys. Coilovers make my head hurt :(
