Eh, just don't like em. Get a tundra with a blown engine and do a cummins swap.

My dad has an 08. It seems to be mostly reliable, although it has a lot of small things that need tinkering. The hard part about buying a used diesel that's tuned is you have no idea who tuned it, or how it's modded. If the trans is stock and the motor is turned up.... well that may be why they traded it in. It's around $3500 for a trans rebuild. Even a scattered core is worth $2K. Just realize the maintenance on those diesel bastards will hurt, no matter who's badge is on the grill.

    crap bolted and welded together....
This is true. This is why I've got rid of the ones I had. After awhile repair bills add up, even doing the work yourself... replacing injectors in my work truck my self was still $$$. Those bastards alone at 280 a piece :/

Did you order new longer u-bolts. I forgot to and luckily I found an off road place that had a set. Just had to go all over creation to find them.

Not trying to be like the asshat that posted up a month ago that was trying to sandblast his bung hole...

    But...

For anyone needing powdercoating or blasting done - consider giving your business to JL Powdercoating, just north of Bellingham. This guy is a master at what he does.

Just picked up my bench this afternoon; I'm amazed.

Lol. A good review is different than a first post of "buy my shit!". That does look nice.

Looks great! I've got a few things that I'd like done, wonder if they'd do a groupbuy if we got together a bunch of stuff for a same color bake.

It's something that I could mention to him. I'm glad that you put in the caveat about everything being the same color; otherwise it's a really arduous process to purge out the entire system each time there is a color change.

I'd really like to play around with a matte finish on a few pieces that I'm working on currently.

Matte black would be my pref, I have a motorcycle frame I'd like done as well but being aluminum it would probably need to go in a different bake. Unsure if they mix different metals given their different melting points.
