For whoever was following my previous discussion on new lift components (I think it's just dakotasyota...), I've done more research

    Git sum!

Anybody have experience with rooting Android phones? Mine is glitchier and laggier than hell so I'm going to wipe everything. Figure its a good time to root it so I can get rid of some factory installed apps and hopefully keep a bunch from starting themselves. Any general pointers or reputable resources out there to read up on?

I'm not sure about most people on TW but I like the 2016 Tacos. Anyone familiar with the new 3.5L V6 they're putting in there?

Pretty sure it's going to be the 2GR-FSE or maybe FXE. Both produce slightly more power on the top end compared to the 4.0. It's my understanding they are not very reliable. We'll see...

In other news, my 24 year old 4.0 liter inline six is still chugging away. Had a nice time dinking around in the woods today.

It's going to be pretty phone + carrier dependent. For instance, I can only comment on the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-i747 (sometimes referred to as d2att).
Some phones are very easy and can swap operating systems on the fly, some phones make it hard, and some no one has cared to root.

Your easiest path might be cyanogenmod, because they were working on a one-step setup. If you don't like that or yours isn't supported, your best forum is going to be xda-developers.com, though the site is a mess.

As for operating systems, I've been on cyanogenmod for about a year and it works quite well. I liked Dirty Unicorns, but their last build broke bluetooth so I jumped away from that.

    crap bolted and welded together....
TThrough PM'S I've helped a few members with rooting info, links, apps and such. What type of phone do you have and carrier? Also... so you want a custom OS or would just a simple unlock be enough?

On my other phones I could do anything and everything whenever I wanted. On my S4 right now I'm on just a simple root. I can change more the stock looks and such. But I can delete all factory apps I don't need and tweak my cpu enough to where she runs fast and smooth. But.... i can't do full in depth tweaks without doing a full OS.

Any paint experts out there? I know everyone and their brother has done this mod...

Ok guys so I done effed up and I don't know how! I tried to be very meticulous about this. My paint is bubbling and I don't know why. Here's what I did:

I got everything pulled apart smoothly.

I then sanded the easy to get to areas with 400 grit, the rest I didn't bother with because so many people don't even sand at all.

I then blew them off with my air compressor.

Then I made sure I got all the remaining dust and any oils by wiping it down with denatured alcohol.

I let it dry for around 10 min and then I primered 1 coat with Rustoleum Plastic Primer.

I let that dry for about 16 hours (the primer was beautiful and smooth) and then I sprayed one light-ish coat of Rustoleum Semi-Gloss Protective Enamel in the spray booth with the fan on.

Almost immediately it started to crackle  I have no idea what I did wrong!! I tried sanding it down and tried again and it immediately started to peel again. WTF?! Does anyone have any ideas?? I really want my taco back I'm driving a jeep wrangler with chrome wheels :(

I'll have to check those out. Quite a bit of info out there and not all of it matches up haha.

I have a Casio G'zOne with Verizon. I just need a simple unlock. Enough to delete the shit apps that get forced on you.

    Model C811
    Android 4.1.2
    Kernel 3.4.0

I've hit a bit of a wall with this one. Figured I would ask you guys.

Technically a bicycle could be expo if you use it for expeditions. My Tacoma has been to 14 countries, doesn't matter how you do it as long as you are out there.
