    Looks like I'll be joining ya'll up in Oregon late next summer. Not sure which city I'll be in but I'll be on recruiting duty. Any suggestions if they give me some options for cities? I was thinking Bend (mainly due to easy access to outdoorsy stuff) but not sure how big it is (last time I was up in Oregon was about 15 years ago). Wife will be in the market for a CPA job so I imagine it shouldn't be hard to find a job. Any suggestions on larger areas, let me know, trying to avoid Portland due to not liking to live in REALLY big cities (not to mention cost of living seems to be crazy).

    Yeah, Portland isn't quite like other big cities... It might not bother you. It's more like a medium city that's just a lot bigger, if that makes any sense. Any of the suburbs can be pretty nice, as long as you live and work relatively nearby.

    I hate big city having been born and raised in San Diego. Really thought we would end up in a smaller city in Idaho but job offer brought me to Portland last December. We love it, still has some city feel for sure but is very nice. I even work closer to the down town area and still dont mind. I just avoid the freeways for most part.
