What is that? I work with heavy equipment and haven't seen an articulating base like that.

    Easily doubles the horsepower!

Its a Cat 552. Feller buncher for logging on steep slopes. We have test pads set up, up to 50%, but it'll easily do steeper. Should be fun doing some actual steep slope testing when its tethered to another machine on a landing.

It tills the ground like an SOB haha. Almost as good as a disk.

Yup! John Deere was supposed to send us one to run some tests, but it seems they have bailed.

You do realize that Oregon is a state and there are infinite "local spots" depending on where you happen to be at the moment? :D

Not trying to be a smartass, get a map of local BLM/National Forest area and just start driving and find the adventure.

I have no problem doing that. Just didn't know if there were designated cool spots to off-road like promontory. I consider the whole state and northwest local I wasn't really meaning super local. I'm in Oregon City.

Tillamook State Forest is about 1.5 hours away and has tons of trails of varying difficulty. You'll need an off-road permit though. I think I bought mine for $10 (2 years) at Sportsman's Warehouse on 82nd in Clackamas.

Fisherman's Marine in Lower OC might sell them too.

What @stikle said. TSF (Tillamook State Forest) is a great place and has Browns Camp for specific "wheeling" and lots of FS roads and random places to pull of and camp. When I was in high school I spent a lot of time out past Molalla and up in the hills outside Estacada. Don't remember any specifics my buddy and I would just drive up and camp wherever we ended up. I am now doing a lot of exploring in the Willamette NF around Detroit Lake. Lots of little lakes and creeks and rough roads. Hoping to do some Mt Hood to Eugene or Medford trips this summer.

I tend to just pick where I am going to start out at and then just randomly drive until I find cool stuff. Never really an end goal more of a I wonder what's down this road.

Hey guys, I've been sitting on a suspension lift kit (icon uca, 2.5 ext. coil overs, ome Dakar Springs, and res. Rear shocks) Sort of wish I had done fox gear instead but that's another story.... I live near White center/Burien and am looking for a person or shop to install. I've gotten a quote from Auburn car repair for 875 install and alignment. Ivery heard these guys do a lot of off road and Tacoma work...Any feedback on shops/mechanics would be appreciated

Buy two pizza's and a box of beer and invite some other members over to help. You could do the whole install with a crescent wrench in an afternoon, minus the alignment. I do my own alignments with a piece of string, but most people don't know how.

I second username - I had never done much car work before I installed my suspension & was able to get it done with a buddy in a weekend from watching youtube videos. Just need a ratchet set and a torque wrench from what I remember.
