its dented but I have no desire NOR capability to undent the tube...itd be near impossible and complete waste of time. they did bend, as you can see, but if I cared to bend it back it would only weaken the point where it bent. I rattle can paint them (only did it once...before I installed them....3 yrs ago haha) and will touch them up the same some day. the sliders did their job, they are there to get banged up, if they dont then you wasted your money and are not pushing yourself

    (additional info for rcvahawaii)
the sliders should not have bent. they are Avid Offroad and if I need new ones down the line, I will not get them again. the legs that attach from the frame mount to the long tube should be square, not round. mine are round for SOME reason. most companies now only use square for this which adds a LOT of strength.

Im still glad they protected the truck and i too have slid on mine, but that video is the most direct, pointed impact theyve taken and they worked. so i cant complain too much, just dont get Avid Offraod sliders

as for welding on yourself, im sure there are plenty of ppl around this forum that could help. I could...if I was in WA yet haha

I know about tennis elbow, but with my passionate fury, they would either rename it completely or discover I have a unique difference and need to apply the new name.
I suppose you are right, I need 30% duty in Hillsboro, but what about the closer I drive to Portland? Maybe I would need continuous duty, or simply extremely high flow (think fire hose diameter lines) to two systems, one to warn people they are going to be douchebags, and the other to confirm it.

Dual compressors, multiple air tanks all tied together, and try again. Might want to get a compressor that is belt driven and pull power directly from the crank, and have a couple 100 gallon tanks in your bed.

The old like 70s ford I think has a factory belt driven compressor. You could could adapt that mike! Lol I'd have to ask where my buddy got his for his wheeler, but it's a sweet system.

I know haha. I didn't think of it for some reason.

Well...it was both. Mostly fatigue over the years from some serious no fucks given wheeling haha. I had already welded up a crack on one of the cross members several years ago. There are other signs of fatigue in the frame. What really did it this time was hitting a water bar on a logging road last weekend while snow wheeling. I didn't think I was going that fast and the extent of the obstacle was hidden in the snow. It gave my front end a good bump straight in the air and I came straight back down. I'm certain that's when the cross members gave out. The worst possible way to deal with air is to come straight down. Its kinda dumb. I wasn't even trying to flog it. Just keeping up enough momentum to keep plowing. Oh and Goat Mountain is pretty cool.

Anyway, the yota has a little, big brother now. Truck payments are cool, right? lol

First chance I get, I'm going to pull the engine and front diff out of the yota, so I can weld and plate what I need to. It'll give me a chance to do some other stuff like change the clutch and head gaskets just to be ahead of some maintenance. At least that'll get it back up and moving. Maybe I should SAS it instead of doing LT...

Holy hell it's fucking cold outside. I just stepped out to change out a lock cylinder on my trailer, which is about 5 minutes of work at most. My fingers were trying to not work, I had my back to the wind driven snow, hood up, and I decided one was enough for now. In pulling the non locking piece out, I saw the screw holding the latch on was completely frosted over. It isn't directly exposed to the elements.

    Phone says 20 out there.

York compressors are belt driven if I remember right. there's a guy who did it on here and it looked to just be a huge pain in the butt. custom pretty much everything.

I miss that cold. but I'm weird and the cold doesn't bug me like other people. used to carry a propane bottle with torch just for situations like that. Changing a tire with froze lug nuts is not fun! But a minute with the torch and it was easy

Lol I'm not fucking with the dodge. Well...I'm pricing out flatbeds right now. It'll get good a/t tires and a bumper and winch, but other than that I'm not messing with it until its out of warranty.

The problem with LTing this yota is I'll need to find a good donor frame to put under it at this point. If I sas it I'll be cutting those crossmembers out anyway. But I realllllly want a LT 2nd gen. I don't know, we'll see.

I was quite happy with hankook dynapro ATM on my yota. I believe they are easily found as 33s as well to fit your dodge. I had C rated for Taco, but they are also available as E rated too.

I liked hanging out with @penguins_cc who carried a Milwaukee cordless impact drill as part of his 'trail tools.'
Makes me jealous, I'm using leftover tools from college as my trail set, and my home impact drill is from HF.

Nope, I work out by the Rock Creek area and live out by the Hillsboro airport.
I saw a Ford Windstar try getting up a side street onto the main street through our neighborhood, but couldn't get traction on the 0.5% grade. I helped by not getting that person where they wanted to go - at that point, nature is trying to tell you that you need to go back home because your vehicle sucks for this weather.
