Oregon and Washington BS thread

Anyone ever had an issue opening their fuel door? I filled up a week ago and had no issue but I just now had to pry it open. How could that happen in a week?

 

Have you filled up in Oregon recently?

I find my door jacked up all the time from the fuel pump technicians.

 

Hey guys! One of the few OGs who still pop in this thread every so often to say hello!

Just checking to see if you guys all get out and enjoy the NW, or just do it for the gram..

 

I think not being able to pump my own gas is going to mess me up for awhile.

 

Definitely get out to enjoy the GNW. Have a 5 yr old and 3 yr old. Love to pick places off the beaten path and drive there.

 

It will. You’ll grow to accept it. Then you’ll wonder why you wanted to pump your own in the first place. Especially in January.

 

Oh a bonus I didn’t think about

 

At the same time... as a life long Oregonian I wish I could at least have the option to pump my own gas when places get really busy and I have to wait to get someone over to my car.

 

Didn’t think of that either. When I was about to pump my own gas the first time I went. The guy ran over and people were starring at me, I was rather confused.

 

If I wait too long at a pump and I don't see help coming my way I go ahead and swipe my card and start the pump with no remorse whatsoever... I hate waiting on some kid that has an attitude to do something I can do faster, cleaner (they always spill) and more efficiently than themselves. I wish they'd make Oregon self serve tbh.

 

Serious question here. Do you tip the pump attendant?

 

Not unless they’re washing my windows or something spectacular but I usually am washing my windshield while the attendant is swiping my card.

If you haven't already buy a Meso Gasshole, will save you from the attendants that don't know what to do with the cap.

Ordered one a few mins ago

 

We like to go camping/fishing anywhere on John Day River, and sometimes, we have to stop at one of gas stations in Biggs Junction, where one can pump the petrol in person- I guess that's proper term.

As per tipping at gas station, we only do if/when they do clean our windshield.

 

They just passed a law in the last couple years that says you can pump your own gas in rural counties
