I haven't yet found one of those places even in some pretty remote places of the state. I am sure they are out there somewhere.

I would have to look up the exact law but it’s not something where they mandatory have to let you pump your own gas

Here is what is says.... as of January 1 2018

Oregon and New Jersey are the only two states that ban self-service gasstations. But thanks to a new law that went into effect on January 1, customers can now pump their own gas in Oregon, though only at stand-alone gasstations in counties with fewer than 40,000 residents

And because not all of us drive only gas powered tacos, some stations encourage, and many require, that if you're using diesel that you pump your own. We had a crew cab f350 dually diesel for many years while the kiddo was eventing with her horses. What they told me is that the stations got tired of the $1k+ bill for towing/draining/fixing of diesel rigs that got filled with regular gas from the $10/hour pumper folk.

I don't mind it and it keeps a lot of folks employed. We pay less for gas than some states, more than some others. I don't mind pumping my own when I visit my little bro in Seattle or the inlaws back in north Idaho or whenever we travel outside Oregon

You are correct about diesels and cycles.

I pump my own on the TDI whenever the guy doesn't come out quick enough.

But... who wants to get their hands smelly, and get out in the rain? yeesh.

When I was down there for work in my dock building days I found that none of the Pacific Pride stations I went to had attendants. I pumped my own gas or diesel every time depending on which truck I was driving. I'm so used to pumping my own that most of the time it didn't even cross my mind.

I pumped my own gas recently in Pendleton and Baker City, didn't even see an attendant or think about how that's a thing in Oregon.

Some parts of Oregon you're allowed to pump your own. Passed a law last year or the year before. I use cardlocks so I pump my own on the regular.

Was at a Fred Meyer station in Portland just the other night - shit went sideways and people took it upon themselves. First time in 14 years of living here I’ve seen complete anarchy at a gas station. Most of us can still figure it out in a crisis.

Now you want to talk about dumb shit Oregonians do, we gotta talk about our inability to merge when a lane ends.

Not often and usually pretty small. Can’t think of a time it ever did damage.

On the west side of the Cascades not very often and pretty small like the previous post there before me said if you decide to go east gets a little bigger and a little bit more frequent because of random thunderstorms the build on the east side of the Cascades

Portland and The Gorge your more likely to see an ice storm during winter than a hail storm.

I can recall seeing hail in Tigard (PDX Burb) just last year or early this year, however it was about the size of maybe a pencil eraser head and passed quickly. Nothing like the hailstorms they get in the midwest and south.
