This will be the first winter we have been around. We are thinking of just running events all year round. Definitely check the Rigs & Coffee IG or my IG during the winters months just to be sure.

Awesome. Cause I am not an IG or FB fan. I was going to ask the same question.

Hey PNW, looking for some undercoating advice.

We like to head up the mountains during the winter and play in the snow. Last season back in CA, I coated the frame and undercarriage with CRC corrosion inhibitor. It comes in a spray can and creates a waxy barrier. Im not sure what DOT uses back in CA but it looked like rock salt (red-brown gravel). So far the frame is holding up fine. Is salt common out here, specifically on the highways and forests like Tillamook and Hood?

Do you guys coat your undercarriage and what do you use?

They dont use salt unless its an epic snow event in Portland and other areas of the state.. they do use magnesium chloride as a de-iced though

As far as I know west of the cascades in WA they don't use salt either -- I haven't observed it personally.

Thanks guys, I won't worry about fluid film then. I'll just hit the vulnerable spots with the CRC.

And lots of gravel. If you’re on the highway and mountain passes a lot, plan to lose a windshield every 3 years.

Some low budget years I’d swear Lookout Pass was dropping tailings.

As the others have said, no salt but LOTS of gravel and Deicer on the highways and main roads. Back roads and side streets get neglected more than they really should.

Absolutely. ODOT is horrid at preparing the roadways. WSDOT seems to be more prepared before storms.

I could build you some. Got a welding machine at home and a tube bender coming in next week.

Built myself this Bed rack as a first project for the Taco.

Got new shoes and shoelaces today! Really wanting the SCS Stealth 6 but settled with Level 8 MK6. A lot of nice wheels out there but I am just not a fan of the beadlocks. Went from 285/75/16 to 285/70/17.

Yo Rob! Nice! I almost went with the bronze too but wasn't sure how they would look with the speedway blue color.

It did.. We kept it simple with OGs and small. Took out all the hassle and kept all the no shows out of it this year.

If you ever want to get out, PM me or any of the OG group. Always down to catch up joe!
