Canopy bro's  where are you guys pulling power for your interior lights? I picked up my Alu-Cab canopy from Mule yesterday and wanting to pull 12v constant power so the lights will work any time.

I ran power from my fuse block under the hood back to the bed and popped a hole in the bedside. Still trying to find a quick disconnect that I can use so that it is removeable (and not just a hole with wires through it).

I'll probably do something like this and have a disconnect for the interior lights and the 3rd brake light. Just need to buy the parts and the tool, might do that now and will have extras if interested.

I have a coworker that does a ton of automotive wiring and has a surplus of deutsch dt connectors. Since the Alu-cab has a connector at each side I plan on having a small bracket that the connectors will clip to and I'll likely either mount them next to the bed stiffeners or on them. They make a flanged deutsch connector but I think doing it this way is less likely to get damaged loading and unloading as the connectors will be able to be tucked away. Since the led's in the canopy are such a low power draw I can probably get away with using power off the tow hitch plug. Since I don't plan on needing any additional power in the back at the moment I'd rather not run power from the front to the back. If I decide we do want additional power then I would probably go overkill and wire in a small fuse panel in the back so I had the option to easily add/control additional things as needed.

Are any of you running a wedge camper? Seems like a good fit for the style of camping my wife and I do.
I’m sure there are some drawbacks I’m missing. Price and lead times are definitely a concern.
What do you all think of them?

I love mine. Camped out of a canopy for many years. It's nice to have a shelter that you can sit/stand up in especially during the PNW rain.

Wait times suck, it took mine 2.5years but completely happy with it (vegabond). Super pacific has shorter weight times, but I hear they leak.

I'm located in SE pdx if you want to check it out.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/how-to-diy-wedge-camper.604686/#post-20377377

I had thought about going this route before I sold my truck. If I had all the money and time I wish I did, I would get a Tundra and build a completely custom wedge camper setup for it, too big to do much heavy-duty off-roading but perfect and spacious for probably 90% of what I would want to explore. The creativity on a lot of these builds is awesome too.

I did see that thread. Lots of possibilities to really customize a camper. Wish I had the time and enthusiasm to tackle that.

Coos Bay!! My grandma lives down there and I usually drive down to visit a couple times a year, but I'm about to move to CO. Have fun out there, it's beautiful!
