Went Christmas tree shopping yesterday. TSF has snow.

 

Anyone interested in snow wheeling this weekend in the Stevens pass area? Preferably have 37"+ tires and lockers. I'll be on tracks.

Any of you good dudes have recommendations for some must do bars, clubs, restaurants in Southern Oregon (Medford/Grants Pass), please drop some knowledge. I'll be going back for a third time, but this time, it'll just be the gf and I, no other family. Gonna be in town this May and want to start my must visit list.

Went by World Or Speed last Saturday and cars and coffee is still happening.

 

Don't know of any bars but there's a dispensary on just about every street corner

Bit of a storm today. Had trees across I5, tree fell infront of the semi I was behind. Thankfully for me (sucks for him), he was able to clear most of it off the road with his bumper. About half of Roseburg was without power. One of the big *** trees at the VA got pushed over. Didnt break, pulled the roots out of the ground.

 

Wind advisory for the Puget Sound now, so that storm has made its way up the coast....

 

Blowing like hell up in Lake Stevens right now. Luckily after 6 months of dealing with government bureaucracy the dead alders leaning towards my house from the property next door got taken down on Wednesday.

Anything I need to know about scope rings or is it a straightforward kind of thing to buy?

 

What size tube (1" or 30mm, or you can get one that can work with either via spacer)? What size objective (determins height)? Do you want one piece (PEPR) or two separate rings? Rail size?

 

Leupold VX-3 4.5x50mm 66295 mating up to a standard AR15 top rail (no handle, picatinny). I was going to buy a bolt action 308 but got lazy. I inherited a Springfield 1903, but it's a total beater.
Specs on scope

 

50mm objective should require you to get high enough rings to make it comfortable on an AR IMHO. I have a friend with a scope on an AR and it's too low for my liking. I have to cock my head sideways to see through it. Looks like a nice scope.
