Looking for a Waterfall around Eugene, OR to Drive to for Mothers Day.
It has become tradition to drive out to one on Mothers Day, but I am new to Oregon and only got my truck 2 weeks ago. So I am not very knowledgeable on the roads around here.
I wanted to find a nice one that I can get to with the State Parks Closed, so that I can take a pic and text it to the Mom on Sunday. Any ideas? My truck is still stock so nothing crazy... yet ;-)

Best bet would be Salt Creek Falls. You may have to park outside the gate and walk in, but it’s totally worth it.

Rebranded crap. Some LEDs will outperform factory halogen like the quad led lights for 3rd gens. But any upgraded halogen, factory led or HID lights will outperform those. @crashnburn80 has a huge write up on upgrading halogens without needing a projector swap if you're okay with buying bulbs more often than not.

They don't use LEDs, they use poor quality halogen projectors, which then people then often put LEDs in because the performance is so poor. But since the projector is poor to begin with, and LEDs perform poorly in good projectors, the poor performance is compounded. People typically need to switch to HID to get useable light out of them, but that really isn't the right answer.

For 2nd Gen you'd want to do the halogen upgrade mentioned earlier, or look at a proper HID retrofit. And by proper I'd advise using 'real' HID projectors and bulbs like D2S, not the H1 rebased halogen type that no reputable lighting brand makes.

Yeah man the hair on my neck is killing me. I can manage the sides and side burns but my wife usually lines me up in the back between haircuts and she isn't here yet.

no idea what that is...but that's on the seam sealer and not the metal. Seam sealer is just there to cover where the door skin overlaps the shell. Perhaps the seam sealer wasn't properly prepped before the door was painted.

Not sure why I didn't think of it before my previous sarcastic response, but it's probably "rail dust" from being transported and then sitting on a rail car before being off-loaded and then transported by truck to the dealer. Or if you live near a industrial area, or foundry, or just anywhere really I guess. It collects in areas that are hidden from air flow that would normally blow the metal particles away before they had a chance to embed into the clear coat.

"When small metal particles land on your vehicle and rust, small specks can form. This is called rail dust. The term originated when cars first started being delivered by train – small particles from the track would fly up and land on the cars. ... Fortunately, rail dust can be removed and if done properly, won't come back" - https://www.newroads.ca/blog/what-is-rail-dust/#:~:text=When small metal particles land, and land on the cars.&text=Fortunately, rail dust can be,, won't come back.

If anybody is looking to part with their 0° or 5° Bolt on sliders for a 3rd gen, I’m interested. If no luck I may pull on some Apex sliders from runnin4 tacos. Don’t play on doing too much but want the protection when I do.

Check out metal tech 4x4. They are local to the Portland area and should have sliders in stock.

    Hey Joe,
Never made Vegas. They changed the offer at the last minute so I declined. Working for a consumer finance company as their systems admin.

    You still local?

Hey James! Dang sorry to hear about the change in offer but glad to see you're still around. Yeap! I'm still local. Haven't been active in the off road scene for years but still buying stuff here and there to maintain/beautify my Taco. I'm working up in OHSU now. Was working inpatient floating between the adult and pediatric side as a respiratory therapist but now I'm working mainly with outpatient on the diagnostic side doing the 8 hour a day 5 days a week thing.
