If I'm not mistaken, I saw that page a long time ago but it never had the maps. I had to guess around on google maps.
    I'm always down for exploration

Lol guess I need to let that other thread die since all the discussion's here

Yeah Tim is up the week of the 14th I think, so I'm guessing it would be nice to make it for the 19th. Did anyone have anything in mind? We could go for another round of TSF, take a lighter trip to something like Barlow Toll Road, or try something further south

I was trying to split the difference between us. Here's a quick list:

Shotgun Creek near Marcola, could be pretty tough lol. I think my Vernonia trail is easier
there is some place called snow peak near Jordan
Santiam Pass OHV might be a bit far

I hope to get my truck into the shop next week, so I can be back on the road in March... A WRX would be nice as a rental, I'll most likely end up with a ford festiva or something!

shotgun isnt worth the drive IMHO. I go their a lot with friends. Its more of a quad/bike trail system. They have a few trails but not enough to make the trip worth it.

the santiam system is nice from what ive seen, but a good chunk of the trails are narly as hell.

    EDIT: Wheres vernonia system at?

    bobert might know more.

Heh, not so much a trail system as just some logging roads I found east of Vernonia, with one trail I scoped out quick. It's further north than TSF by about an hour

So yeah, we just have a prob where there's trails in southern oregon, northern oregon, or eastern oregon, but nothing down the center of I-5 so much.

I only made it out to Santiam a couple times this summer to help build Quack Attack, so I don't know a whole lot. Didn't explore the area nearly enough haha. What I do know is there is a network of easy dirt trails right below Quack Attack. There are dirt roads shooting off the highway all over up there too. To the best of my knowledge they are fairly easy. I think the only serious, hardcore trail is Quack Attack.

Here's the sub-forum on Deschutes County 4-wheelers about Quack Attack.

There is Cottage Grove. Went out there with TTORA and another club..forgot the name but if you want more info I can dig up old post runs from there and link it to here. Bohemian Mine trail I believe was the name. Not to bad. Was pretty fun and scenic.
