I guess some of the FJC guys went the same day, but had the good sense to turn back after 1/4 mile.

I honestly don't think I would have the balls to wheel as hard as those guys do. Not until I have the disposable income to literally just throw away by abusing my rig until something breaks or the whole thing rolls down a hill.

I also don't have much of a life insurance policy. :p

yeah ive got 1 friend that went through but he is a totally different major than me. any of your friends happen to be information system majors?

was it worth it to them?

the internship would most likely be in portland and i dont know if i am willing to make the commute from corvallis everyday, they give you money to relocate but I dont know if im up to live by myself in portland.

If going through a program that nearly guarantees you a high-paying job is worth it to you - you should probably do it. Live by yourself and come back to Corvallis on the weekends. It's not that far away.

I know people in a couple different engineering focus' that have gone through it and they all started at $60K + a year in the job they got because of MECOP

I was going through a CS degree and never felt I had the time for it because of the jackass advisors.

If you have the opportunity, I would probably recommend it because it gives you purpose-driven experience, which OSU seemed to lack - everything in the class was nebulous and theory-based. Being able to apply skills really drives it home.

OSU definitely thrives in Mechanical Engineering and CEM. Both of those focus' have very strong programs for providing real world experience. 4 of my buddies were CEM grads and all of them are making close to $80K a year after a year of working. (Not without hard work. Most of them are working 3 weeks on, 1 week on schedule with about 80 hours of work a week)

I do wish sometimes I would have gone with an ME degree. I love everything automotive. But the math part of it would have killed me.

    same shit as everyone else
    Tire Chains...

I'm driving to Texas in a few weeks. I'm going to go with my stock rugged fails on for MPG reasons. I went to get a rear set of tire chains for the trip and was told "you can only run chains in 2wd and on the rear tires". Some how I feel I can run 4hi on the highway with only the rear tires chained up. The guy at NAPA strongly disagrees and says I'll fuck my shit up only running chains on the back tires in 4wd??? How so? I understand the theory of putting one set on the front or back. But how is it damaging to run 4wd with only one set of chains?

i think i am going to wait until the spring session rolls around. im cutting it pretty close with the deadline for this one. that way i can intern during the summer and not really miss any school.

other than that im pretty mad about procrastinating about changing my oil when it was nice because now the weather is all poopy, and i still need to get new tires before i go snowboarding

Interesting. Sorry, but don't book a flight to New Orleans. If Oregon wins out they will play in the Rose Bowl. They are not better then Alabama or Oklahoma or OK state (if they are all 1 loss). Voters will not want to see another LSU Oregon game, that was a blow out. LSU Alabama would be a better rematch.

LaMichael also, should not be back in the hunt for the Heismen. 147yrds is not that dominating. If he had ran for 200+ that would be another story. Oregon fans need to watch out for USC this weekend, I for one will NOT be surprised (actually its the one time I root for USC) if USC upsets Oregon. I think WSU showed how porous the secondary can be.

Just my opinion, but I'm sick of hearing about Oregon. Win a bowl game then you can talk

I used to know the answer to this at one time, but it leaked out my brain. If you only have one set, you pretty much have to do rear or else you won't move. Not having them on the front means you can't steer. I just always go for 4 unless I'm in a fwd car

I'm not saying they will nake it. I just thought it was funny to hear how stanford try to help them win with long grass, what the coahes/players had to say. I think they only have like a 5% chance of going back to the nati.

Deanthony Thomas has a big mouth that will definitely be shut up once Kelly sees that article. One thing I like about Kelly is he is nothing like any other part of the Oregon organization - he doesn't gloat and he's not over confident.
